The cutest thing in this video is Sophia running to Kenan when the deer got a bit riled up and his fatherly kiss on the top of her head.

Sofia is a champ and a natural! She handled that deer so well and didn't panic. Loved the video!!

Sophia is awesome- I was immediately a little jealous too of hanging with such a sweet friendly deer, but when Amy said “come on in!” I was so happy for Sophia! She will be the next gen of Kenan and animal conservation, I love how much she’s so brave with so many animals. Way to go Sophia!

We had a pet turkey in our backyard when I was little. My dad’s friend was cutting his field and came across a nest. The mother wouldn’t come back for the eggs, so he hatched them in an incubator and gave us one. I named him Thursday. He became aggressive with the smaller kids as he matured, so we had to give him to my uncle who had a farm. I loved that turkey! He got to hang out with the tame turkeys on the farm.

Congrats to you and Kate for two years of Kamp hijinxs. Kate has come a long from squealing in terror as you had the two tree pythons crawling around. Hope she is staying safe with all the challenges of teaching school during this time. 🐢

I have a horse farm in southeast GA. We have several eastern box turtles that roam around near the creek. We also have a beautiful, huge female gopher who wanders around the riding arena and barn area, and even sometimes inside the barn. She’s super friendly and we just watch her roam around grazing grass. I love them! My sulcata is not large enough to safely roam outside yet, but I often wonder what will happen if the gopher and Matilda were to meet each other in the future.

I hope they won't attack each other. That would be very sad.

Hey Kenan and family! Awesome video...I Love Bush Wildlife! Sophia, you were a natural! And one day soon I see you as a little female Kenan! 😘Wish I lived in Florida next door to you guys! Because Sophia, you would be in my home all the time! I got dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, fish and I used to have turtles 🐢 ( but gave them to the county zoo! ) Trying to get a tortoise from Kenan, but haven’t happened yet. Like Kenan, I have a lot of work and most of my animals were pets others didn’t want ( mostly staff and patients) so I basically have two full time jobs! But, I’m glad I can help you a little on patron. Keep up the great work Harkin Family! 😘😘😘😘😘😘

We have an eastern box turtle (about 2.5 years old), captive bred, that we bought from CB Reptiles. She has a REALLY tall shell, in fact I never stop commenting on it. I wonder if she has some Florida in her ancestry. Always love it when kamp kenan features boxies :)

The arrangements are in place for me to start volunteering at a new homeless horse shelter come December. 🐎 I'm good enough with horses that I can now start volunteering with them. In fact I'm going out to the horse ranch today! I can't wait to see Santana! I bet he has more burrs in his mane too. What a naughty boy he is. I've also have come pretty close to wild deer, like within an arms length or so..I think the calmness I use with horses work on deer too. I know horses use their lips as fingers...they explore stuff and try to figure out what a thing is with their lips. Deer might be the same way. If course u wouldn't try touching a wild deer but it's a special moment when I see one here in the city. And yes, we have wild deer inside the city.

Around 8:00, Am I hearing Sand hill Cranes? They walk through my yard everyday. About 2 families do, 1 set in the morning another in the evening. And our backyard neighbors get the non mated flock walking through theirs. So I can see about 6-10 different birds a day with the cranes.
