So thankful they've been rescued from the bad situation they were in. Praying for healing and peace for these sweet horses. I just can't believe humans can be so cruel to animals as to completely neglect their care and leave them in terrible conditions without food to sustain them. Thankful that you are working with others to help rescue all you do. It's a lot of work and a heavy load for you all.

I'm heartsick for these horses. Sugar and Rolo look particularly poor. Glad you've managed to provide medical and hoof care so quickly. Don't like Sugar's cough. One day at a time. How excellent that each one has a plan in place 🙏🙏🙏 Hope you'll post before and in-progress photos. We love to see them turn each corner and thrive. Thanks for all you do.

Oh my goodness, Michelle, they look in bad shape..and you say they were in a worse state..!! Bless you. Thank you for showing us that Little Rollos' temp has gone down.. he's a cutie patootie😂.. yes, l can see that Serena has put on weight.. no more rib lines as she walks..and she is walking to you rather than away, so again, that's improvement .. Jessie and Chance might settle down like Serena has..so fingers crossed 🤞 as it would be less work for you to get them up to speed before they could he adopted out..God Bless the donors on covering Serenas bail too as l know that came from your own personal money because she needed saving and you couldn't let her go..she looks so much better than a few weeks ago..temprement and health..auctions are terrible places for infection and just like us..when you are low and weak you catch everything going..so hope Sugars cough just goes away with the meds she is getting.. loved how you laid your hand on Rollos' back and asked for God's help. Our belief makes so much difference.. He has guided you to this path.. and it may be hard .tiring and worrysome.. but that feeling when you know they are safe is worth it.. I found the info very interesting because in humans an increased temperature is the immune systems way of fighting infection as long as it does not get too high (especially in children). This means that by bringing temperatures down the immune systems fight is weakened.

It is the same for horses but with all the underlying malnutrition issues for both the mare and foal we felt giving them some relief from fever was necessary. So a slightly elevated temp isn’t too concerning but both of the horses were “too” high. 🫶🏼

Rolo is eating well and continues to try to nurse. As you can see Sugar should no longer be nursing him due to her condition. We will be sure to give him the least stressed environment possible! It is time for him to be weaned.

I’d like a video about why you are separating Rolo from Sugar. The level of stress caused by that, before they have more time to heal could be tremendously harmful. I understand he’s eating and the necessity to nurse isn’t there. But weaning is tremendously stressful on the healthiest of horses.
