on average in Japan a.) more people do it probably b.) the more "if you're just going to half-ass it don't bother do it" mentality vs in America its just positive vibes its-ok-just-come-with-your-best-effort. c.) you're showing serious cosplayers here with and theres more high-profile venues perceived with higher stakes meanwhile in the US: d.) you're benchmark is probably your local con with your local con cosplayers. why are you comparing e.) if we have more higher profile events (mind you Comiket itself is already much bigger than AX, our biggest event) and cosplaying gets more everything (exposure, people, opportunities etc) then our level of quality might rise f.) our best could is probably the same level at their best too. the seriously cosplayers you see in after-hour shoots in AX are like... serious. so yeah. I get your sentiment, but nah. general statements like that don't fly anymore. best-on-best sample pools? we got it. your average cons? maybe you get this because you're referring your local anime con to their cons which are higher profile in general.

@@wiryantirta actually there's alot of good enough effort cosplay at Japan, the only problem on, not just america is way too many people cosplay as spiderman/deadpool oh and those damn clown with ahegao sweater so yeah, Japan has better cosplay community.
