Rescuing a 1975 mk1 rabbit swallowtail. VR6! RHD SWAP!

Over the past few years I’ve been working on this 1975 mk1 swallowtail. Practicing my skillset and dreaming of the day I’ll be able to take it out onto the road legally. This is a short clip of how I got it and what I’ve been up to so far.

The way D90s and Teledials look on a MK1 just embarrasses the 944s and 928s they came on. I absolutely loved the patina on this car when I first saw it on Instagram , and the fact that it’s a swallowtail is just the cherry on top.

Lots of work. I’m eager to see how this project evolves. I’ll subscribe. I hope you can fix it up, and don’t give up. So many people just quit projects. But remember the term KISS, just put a nice 1.8 GTI motor, that is plenty of fun. I have three Mk1 Scirocco’s, and the 1.8 engine is a perfect match with a close ratio trans.
