You know you won't feel right unless you do a full tear down. Strip it, rebuild the parts that need rebuilding and do a full frame off restoration. When it's done, you'll be happy that you did.

I would do the full tear down because it should only be standard maintenance after that.

I believe that I would tear it apart (marking as many parts as possible) and begin with the frame, then engine and drive-train, then body work. My father did that with his 1948 Ford Pickup and it is a beauty!
