Cooool! I remarked only very recently that I hadn't seen any new videos coming from your channel, Chris - and here's one now! 😄

Great kit. I just picked up the same snare for $25 including stand, travel case, books and sticks. It needed a new bottom head but otherwise was in like new condition.

I had a drum set sold out from under me too. I lucked out the other buyer only wanted the hardware and cymbals. I got the Pearl Deluxe from 1968 shell pack for $100. It needs new wrap and heads.

Finally, you are back. I was afraid that you gave up. I found you on KZbin around six months ago and really enjoy watching you fix up old drums and then resell them at a very reasonable price. That is commendable on your part. I am a retired school teacher and after listening to you in your videos guessed you to be a teacher, just by the way you spoke and handled yourself. I then saw that I was wrong. I think you would have made a great teacher. Anyway, thank you for being here for all of us. Oh, another thing that drew me to your videos is that you are from Washington. We live in southwest Washington in a little town called South Bend. If you have ever driven 101 south toOregon or Long Beach, you passed through South Bend. Well, I am going to watch your latest video now. Take care and again, thank you.

Thanks so much for watching! I taught drum lessons for many years as a side job. I am very familiar with South Bend. I grew up in Centralia.

You may have heard of David Raouf and his 'rdavidr' Drum DIY channel; He had also bought an Acrolite for $20 a while ago, from a Goodwill store, including a hardcase! I reckon it's his best-sounding snare! They sell them for the equivalent of *600 USD* here in NZ!!

I have two sets I'm working on now. I'm hoping to have another video out within a month or so. My problem is I have too many projects. Collector cars, a motorcycle, Rotary, church, and oh yeah, work! :)

You ''felt bad'' giving $40 for that Ludwig Snare that you knew darn well is worth $250 on a bad day, I've seen a lot of con artists in my day, and you sir, are definitely up there with the rest of them.

I actually thought about that. After taking that snare apart and cleaning it I decided to sell it. I spend about 3 hours cleaning it and I about $175 after shipping costs. That's about $60 per hour. Too much? Maybe, but I know drum teachers who charge more than that for lessons. If you check out my other videos you will see that I normally spend many hours fixing up drum sets and sell them for no profit and my labor is all free. This time I decided to help offset the cost of the Sonor kit and just keep it for myself.

That's a lovely little kit. What model of Sonor is this?

I had a question for you; do you do repairs on hi hat stands?
@christhedrummerkimball2 жыл бұрын
I have done so for personal use, but I don't do it professionally. Thanks for watching!

Hey, I've got a couple flat ride and I bet one of them would work nice with that kit. I'll trade you for those 502 hi-hats, if you still have them. I'm just up in Poulso, so not too far away. Sound like a deal?

How much for the Sonor? Is it a 3007 series?

I'm keeping the Sonor kit just to have for gigs where I don't want to haul around one of my larger kits. It's a great kit for jazz gigs.
