Wow you're right that really is new! Serial No. Year 2021. The taped hose is a newish thing on these machines; apparently they did tests to show the lesser resistance near the appliance end improves airflow.. Every little helps when the motors are reduced in wattage to try to save electricity. Either way you got to rescue a super new Henry! 👍👍👍

Conical hose fitted to compensate the lower wattage motors. They're exploiting the Venturi effect. (Like a carburettor) Mr.B. isn't it Bernoulli's principal ?

Good old science, if it wasn't for the EU and their straight bananas and their limits on the wattage on vacuum cleaner motors we wouldn't even have had to think of this. It has to be a trade off, the point of greatest constriction is where the gas travels fastest, so at the point where the hose is widest the gas must be slowest. Maybe that saves the bags from excessive wear?

@@bootsowen Can a Henry filter be washed? The filter should be brushed off during each bag change to get the maximum lifespan from it. This filter is not washable! I guess that didn't have you in mind when they made these lol.

people are stupid they throw away vacuums just for the fact its blocked instead of unblocking them they throw them away if a vacuum is not picking up its either blocked or the filters are clogged with so much dust they air can not pass through the filter witch will cause the motor to overheat and cut out my mums dyson dc40 was not picking up and its becasue the change valve was split once i changed it for a new one works fine again but if i had not fixed it my mother would have thrown it out the only time you should ever throw a vacuum out is if it blows up like sparks and flames come out of it but even then thats a sign the brushs have gone and new brushs are only a couple of pounds to replace
