I am a 68 year old woman who was raised in small town Louisiana. Everything y'all do reminds me of my youth, I had jars of critters all over my house and was fearless as I hunted them down in every creek, lake, under rocks and logs, and stinky mud. I always have a big smile on my face when I watch your productions and know exactly how you are feeling. My biggest hurdle was my allergy to mosquitos. I miss my minnow, frog, and mudpuppy hunting days. Thanks for bringing back my youthful memories.

The skeleton koi should be named Bones! I still want to see you go to the "abandoned" fish store and buy a couple of those beautiful giant koi. Did you ever find any of the other big koi where you got one of the three that escaped into the canal when it flooded?

Bobby, I had a very large koi pond in mid Wisconsin. I had a couple of my eighth grade students help me dig it out. It was huge. I dug it to 48 inches so it would’ve easier not to freeze over. Had heaters in it as well. In any case, it was sooooo much work for me and I loved every minute of it. The glorious part was getting my koi picked out. Believe it or not, they spawned every spring. I had to move and leave it. Heartbroken still💕😭💕

I just love if people do have these ponds and are moving - they take care of their fish and give them other homes. So many just leave their fish. I bought a house once with a pond - the house had been abandoned for a few months. Half the fish were alive but half were dead. I donated the live ones to a collector - they are doing really well. I fed the sadly dead ones to the birds.

Beautiful fish. You clearly need a huge pound for those Koïs. I'm French and I heard the "rule" of 5m3 for the first koï, then 2m3 for each other (1m3= 1,000 liters = 264,172 gallons). Nice video. Why not Brook for the skeleton ? (One piece)

Love his passion but alot of names were off. Large scaled are Doitsu Koi, what he called chagoi, one was a saragoi, what he called lemon was actually a Hariwake and the large scale butterfly was a Butterfly Kikokyuru. What he called Skeleton Koi is actualy Aragoke type Koi or butterfly Kikokyuru.

Are they really expensive fish though? I see better koi and the Chinese pet store here in Crenshaw California

@@InglewoodNative1611 These are not expensive ones, the most expensive possible one there was the Asagi which didntbhave very great retuculation and orange in all the wrong places. But then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder and some might pay decently for the Kikokyuru
