Rescuing this old mossy Dump Truck from its Grave - First time on the road in years!

This old dump truck has been left to rot but takes us by surprise!
We've never had the opportunity to drive or own a big piece of equipment this size, but we figure it out!
It looks as if someone put in a new alternator and some new batteries quite a few years ago but couldn’t get it to move. Let's make it happen!

That is SOOO cool! My grandpa had a dump truck for awhile. Older than the looks of the one y'all show here, but man we had some fun in that truck. My favorite was when he would bring in a load of gravel and let me stand in the dump part on top of the gravel and I got to ride the gravel out as he dumped it. Such a blast! Lookin' back it was likely quite dangerous which would be why mama got so mad when he'd let me do it. 🤣

You only need a clutch for first and reverse the rest of the time you just float the gears

How figured out how to float them. He got up the 4th taking it home but it still topped out at about 15 mph. Couldn't get the gears to split though

Try float shift it once you get in first just float shift from there stopping is a nother thing

Joe did eventually figure out how to float the gears. He got it in 4th to go home but the clutch didn't work well enough to double clutch into the high gears
