Thanks, great intro to sorting a leaking roof. I did check the roof before purchase but it has suddenly developed a leak. Will follow your tips. Not so sure about your soft brush, Sika 291 appears to be the go from my study on attaching a solar panel to the roof. Cheers Andrew

You don't use turps to clean before silicone or other sealants as it will stop adhesion you need to use metho to pre clean surface

used sika before i will use dicor this time around as it has no leaks and only 3 years old no leaks the roof still looks good a tape called eternabond is very good but its made out of the same stuff as the dicor sealent and eternabond is a pain to remove.

It helpful but So little footage of actually doing any repairing that I can’t really follow exactly what you’ve done I must be a bit silly but even the masking tape I can’t see from the footage because the camera changed the vertical so you’re not close up it’s almost like your silicon on top of the masking tape I just can’t see what’s going on and how you actually got the old silicon out of the groove? The scraper doesn’t fit in the tiny grooves so how did you pull all the old silicon out you didn’t show us how you pulled the giant corner of rubbish silicon and either did you fix that

This is a pathetic fix what should have happened was all the joins should have had eternabond tape installed over all joins then a liquid rubber product installed over the entire roof!

Awesome to here i have a similar issue with a swan outback camper and am thinking of doing the same thing. Can i ask what you used as a sealent was it sika flex?
