Some ideas for early stage research presentation (a proposal defense) Keep it to 4-5 slides. Slide 1: Cover slide with title, uni, lab, name Slide 2: Background, why it is important, highlight main gaps from literature Slide 3: list 3 main research questions you are intend to address (and their impact to the field) Slide 4: Progress to date (experiments, results, publications made etc.) Slide 5: Future work (tests planned, gannt chart with deliverables/milestones/planned publications etc). In 10-12 minutes you'll be able to deliver the core message(s) of your research work. This is what we use at our university (University College Dublin, Ireland School of Computer Science) Hope this could help someone. (For CS people, using a JavaScript library may be quite useful)
