Let me share with you the real reason why the resell market is dead. The Fed raised the interest rates from 0% to 4% plus, in order to conbat inflation. That made borrowing capital expensive and also incentives leaving your money in interest bearing savings accounts instead of flipping sneakers in order to not lose money due to inflation when interest rates were at 0%. This is why resell was a thing even before the Pandemic, which affected the supply and demand balance, thereby pushing resell prices through the roof. So PRO-TIP: If interest rates ever go back to 0... then start buying up sneakers because resell will come back with a bang!

To both Nike and Sneakerheads: Be careful what you wish you, as you may just get it. Let be real, hype is the engine driving the sneaker scene. And what drives hype? Scarcity. When something is hard to obtain, we place more values on them. Now that sneakers are easy to obtain, we just don't want them anymore. That's human psychology. If we take a step back, the only reason we have 10+ pairs of any particular model in different colourways, is because we believe there are values in them. Who can go through 50-80 pairs of sneakers in a lifetime? We buy because we believe they will retain value, so when the time comes we can flip them for the next pair. Now that the hype are gone, and there are no more chases, the thrill of obtaining a new pair has been diluted. Hey we want to be able to get the shoes we want right? Nike/JB obliged. What you didn't count on is that what you "want" is different to what you thought it was.

Resell market is only alive due to other resellers who wants them. I, a previous reseller myself stop doing it 2 yrs ago. And I YOLO Nvidia stocks and S&P 500. And now I'm making more2x than I can imagine without doing anything! Its no brainer! 😂😂

I think the love is there ..but over saturation, price hikes and even way bigger is the world’s economy tumbling down the past few years.. and ppl have to make better decisions with money and sneakers isn’t top the list ..so more affordable brands have a open line

Jordan brand has pumped out sneakers to quickly my closet is full and I have no space in my home for sneakers and now I'm more into luxury boots. Mostly will be getting Saint Laurent and Celine boots. Definitely will be getting the olympic 6s.

I've always been into sneakers since the early eighties but I would never pay more than the shelf price for ANY shoe.
@BB-te3nx16 күн бұрын
You ain’t lying. I only wear adidas and I never paid over retail ever. If anything I would wait till they went on sale and get them cheap. Then they started this resale thing and I just can’t see me paying 300-400 for a shoe that’s 100 bucks retail. I just can’t do it. And I could only imagine if I wore Jordan’s what it would be. Crazy

Resale is dead when you can actually get collabs for retail. Also. Nike taking a hit cause ppl following this soccer dad shoe wave at the moment. Real OGs sneaker heads are happy to catch retail/under retail dubs. I want ppl to have the same energy next year.

GRs no problem but any good collab is still a problem...I agree when the hype shoes sit then we can say resell is dead..
@GeeHaze855 ай бұрын
@@certifiedsneakeri really hope the OGs next year are massive GR's. Need em all to "brick" ⏸️. I also don't be tripping on not being able to get collabs. It's not really my era. Imma sneaker head from the 90s as a kid. So this lingo "GR" "hype" "collabs" it's hella weird to me and don't follow trends. What Happened to just picking up kicks for the love of the shoe/culture. I would like collabs as a collector, But I don't lose sleep and not paying resale. My bad for the rant lol.

Imma sneaker head from 70s 80s i njoy wearing them to have a fresh pair sneakers on feels good that's the sneaker culture not resales and comparing them n how it looked 30 yrs ago just rock them n learn the history of them that's sneaker culture

Idgaf if travis scott wore them and signed em, they not worth anything above retail.

The market isn't dead until the hype sneakers are going for retail or under.

It's mostly because resellers are selling replicas and you can't even tell the difference between a top quality replica and a authentic pair, they even smell right but there is things that they will come with that authentic Jordans don't have like a fake Chinese Nike inventory authenticity tracking tags shaped like a Nike swoosh and fake Nike post card with instructions to take them off in Chinese with a app that doesn't work because it's not the official Nike inventory tag and post card Nike gives you at the Nike store in China. This is the shoes from Poizon that's located in China and they know how the official Nike tracking tag looks in China but they still get through because they don't have any incentive to tell you if they are fake because they don't want to lose the sale. But from going from losing a sale they are going to lose their whole business. But that's capitalism, it's about the quick buck not about sustainability

I don’t know about other people, but I’m tired of the same shoe over and over and over. How many Jordan 1’s or 3 or 4’s do you want? Dunks too. I have a lot and just don’t feel like buying the same shoe anymore. Nike needs to create new silhouettes.
