This is a difficult Way for those who have been scapegoated and been subjected to bearing shame that does not belong to them. On one hand the scapegoat has their own sin to bear - but growing up in a sick family system - we may have a long process of sorting that sin which belongs to us, and that which belongs to others - without judging them (and learning to love them - bless them - hope for the best for them)! Very challenging....if you're walking this path, may God bless you and may you have courage and take heart- God heals - and you are not alone! ☦️

Do not react Do not resent Keep inner stillness *Do Not Resent: Repent (and Pray): .It will help you and the person you hurt)* 3:38 Purification of Noetic, Inner Awareness, Consciousness, 4:28 we've all got marks on our soul. We have held grudges. We have built up hatred of other people who hurt us. We objectify people. 5:38 We characterize that person by what they did and how we experienced them. 7:07 Ex. Someone abused you, intentional or not, abuse can lead to the development of resentment. 8:41 We cannot answer to God for someone elses sin, but we can repent for our own sins. (We can pray that the abuser repents for the sake of his/her soul.) 10:15 Pain grows the more that person means to us. 11:28 "As long as we allow ourselves to stay a victim, we remain under the control of" that abuser. We can get triggered in a reaction 14:00 _Question: What about resent someone who hurt me without provocation?_ 14:41 Abuse is a grave sin. Do I sin? Yes. Ergo, we cannot point fingers. We are seeing our own disturbing behaviors in someone else. 16:27 If you did not meet abuse for abuse, all you can do is attempt to not resent the abusive one (who could change their ways in the future) 18:16 *Hatred In The Heart results in Me Driving Away The Holy Spirit working within My Heart.* 20:16 _How about residual annoyance?_ That person is just being who they are, why be annoyed? Love your neighbor. 21:13 The degree to which we love God goes together with Love of our Most Hated Person in our life. Purge resentment, hatred, anger, bitterness, profoundly selfish reactions within ourselves. 24:52 If we try to validate our sins, how can we get rid of them? 25:41 Apothia - Not to be controlled by my habitual reactions. - Gluttony - Lust - Avarice - Akidía aka acedia aka Sloth - Anger - Despondency - Envy 26:29 Passions are habitual. They need refinement (into Virtue). 27:51 Ex. My Neighbor Got THAT SUPER COOL CAR I ALWAYS WANTED! 28:34 NOT FAIR NOT FAIR. - that's envy. 29:26 Women's Envy and Men's Envy. Men are horribly Envious to get what they want and take revenge on the one who they feel wronged him 31:20 Teenagers 33:18 *How do I prevent resentment among close friends?* We actually get unconscious in our lives with distractions. 34:36 Confront Distractions *Be Watchful Over Thoughts* 35:04 35:59 Provocation: Something bad happens ok, How will you react to this: Shame and Self-Hatred? Bitterness? 38:30 When Praying The Jesus Prayer. Memories come to mind. 42:35 Confession of thoughts: with friends, with priest. Concealing Problems give Problems control 43:20 Name It And Claim It! 44:55 How do we keep our attention fixed on what we want it fixed on? The Mind goes poking in and out of many places. Where is our attention going? PULL YOUR ATTENTION AWAY when it goes to unwanted, bad places. 47:08 Sometimes we need distraction from thoughts + Go for a run + Do prostrations + Say a Jesus Prayer 48:00 Prayer Rope to keep physical attention. 50:27 Palestine, The Middle East, Eastern Orthodoxy is NOT WESTERN. Natural Energy Divine Energy 52:00 Do you see the connection between Attention & Purification? + Bring the passions, bring the reactions, Under Your Personal Control. + Clean up your external acts + Clean up your thoughts + Develop your spiritual awareness. Stop sins Silence The Mind of distracting thoughts Become Noetically Conscious Allow the Nous to pray 54:48 Learning how to keep our attention focused. 55:13 Silent Prayer, love Silence.

I get lost when you say abuse and then the examples are like two ppl yelling at each other. How does this apply to real abuse like child molestation? We have to love our molesters to love God?

there are degrees of evil, and this forgiveness thing is often overplayed to empower evil and disempower defenders and escapees.

Love is desiring the highest good for others. It isn’t a romantic idea of affection that people often think of. You can love your enemies by praying for them. It doesn’t mean you put up with abuse or remain in a dangerous situation. 🙏🏻☦️

I think yes. Maybe not the way you love a spouse or a friend but you are asked to love and forgive them, because the mercy you show will be showed to you. The judgment you render will be rendered unto you. This is why the wisdom of God is called foolishness to the world. That doesn't deny or invalidate your pain or your trauma, but we are called to this difficult task for our salvation. That being said this is one of the most sensitive subjects and more nuance is needed than can be given in a comment. Prayer and counsel from a good spiritual father is advised. I hope you heal my sister/brother in Christ

The metropolitan says here and elsewhere serious abuse as you’ve described is never okay. Though it can still be forgiven. But to the entire nature of this series it must be dealt with/processed; and probably slowly. God bless.

I’d also like to know how one deals with holding adults accountable who have abused a child,’even it’s emotional abuse such as shunning or ostracism. Abuse that is outside of the law but equally damaging.

I think it is in Matthew chapter 18 that Jesus describes a process of dealing with the unrepentant evildoer who has harmed you, that if they persist, ends in ostracism even public ostracism. Some preachers of falsehood publicly condemned whined the critic didn't come to them privately at first but they did their thing publicly affecting many so not the same situation.
