One of the things I love about your vids is how you talk about things you've learned. From your travels, books, life, work... This time was "Turtles" and seeing how life is for those suffering from mental illnesses like OCD and anxiety. This teaches us to have empathy for others - Something which unfortunately is in short supply these days. I may have touches of OCD....BUT the anxiety has been sending into a tailspin at times lately and that combined with the autism stuff can be , well quite an ordeal. Julia I was watching Kat Nesbitt. and she talked about checking out the TTboard. she said it is the company board .it's different then the flight attendants boards. she said she goes on it when she wants a over seas trip. she got one to Japan. I thought about you when she talked about it. she said she goes to it when she has trips and when she doesn't.

I think I told you, during my career, I think I went to Japan about 25 timers. But my son went recently, and informed me everything I remembered has likely changed. (For example, I remembered it being expensive for Americans. He told me he did not think so. (But he lives in NYC, so he might be biased. 🙂 ) Hope you get back soon, but if you only got to stay in Narita last time. take the train into Tokyo, as it will be worth it..

@@JettingJulia - I just completed a round trip GEG > TPA > GEG for my grandson's high school graduation this week on your airline. Thought maybe I would see you or one of your fellow DFW-based vloggers (even though I know you're based in PHL) as my TPA > GEG return leg routed thru DFW with a 3.5hr sit. Alas, no such luck. . . 😢 However, I think this little anecdote will bring back memories: The entire LGA-based cabin crew on my TPA > DFW leg were brand new - it was only their second flight soloing after graduation! They were on a three day (LGA > TPA > DFW > TPA > LGA), and even though they were a little nervous doing the safety items demonstration, overall they did a great job, and I don't think the majority of passengers realized they were newbies. Being seated in 24D on a 737, I chatted for a minute with #2 & #3 as we were waiting to deplane, which is when I found out they were brand new. I waited at the gate until all four came off the aircraft, then thanked each one of them personally for doing a "job well done" so early in their careers. Their reactions were priceless gratitude. . . As always, Cheers from GEG ❣

Julia ... I hope you have seen the press reports of the shameful way your company has responded to a lawsuit regarding one of your number filming a young girl in the bathroom. Beyond this event pointing to a cultural issue at American ... somehow the female FAs must be EXTREMELY vigilant when a male FA is present. Attention to detail is the key to success! I realize it places yet another stress on FA shoulders, but you ladies are probably in the best position to nab such offenders before they offend multiple times ... and please keep posting interesting life stories.
