I had that problem with a 2010 Subaru Impreza 2.5i and found a link on KZbin that said to disconnect the both battery cables and then touch both cables together for at least 20 seconds. Well guess what it worked and that saved me some money for not bringing it to a dealer or repair shop.

Glad it helped. A bunch of things can cause it. Some serious that need to be looked at related to an airbag that isn’t functioning properly but some are due to disconnecting wires as part of other work etc. If the error reappears you know you have an actual problem. Thanks for the video! Cleared my light the second time lol I also had the check engine lights saying 02 sensors/cats. P0420/0430 are secondary codes caused by p1800 code, Vias solenoid up top by charcoal canister/intake could be the main cause. Cheap scanners won't pull the p1800 code. Try changing the Vias solenoid before changing 02 sensor or cats.

If you have a 98-01 Nissan frontier turn your ignition on and before seven seconds is up Push your door button 5 times its located at the bottom left of the door frame on your driver side that make your interior light come on and off when you open the door. The airbag light will then start to blink slower three seconds on two seconds off. wait seven seconds and turn the ignition off and then when you turn it back on it should go off and stay off. It worked for my 98 Nissan frontier there’s also instructions on the Internet if Mine aren’t clear enough. I tried what this guy said in this video and it did not work so hopefully my comment will help somebody out with the generation that I have which is the first. Gen

@TheBrokenBolt2 жыл бұрын
Likely means you have a problem in the system that needs to be looked at then. That’s the original reason I wanted to turn mine off to see if I had caused the problem in a recent (unrelated) repair or if there was a problem. If mine had come back on (it didn’t) then I would know I needed to get it looked at. I wish you the best as you root out whatever the issue is.

@@josebarahonalopez907 glad it worked. I’m told that sometimes this will come on after something has been unhooked … installing something new etc … in terms of expert advice I’m not the guy to offer that … but in my case when I reset the one on my truck nothing was wrong with the system and it stayed off. I reset one on my pathfinder a while back and it came back on in a few minutes of driving - read the code and there was something that needed fixed and so we did … not sure if that personal experience helps or not but now you know. If you’re worried about it find a mechanic that you trust (trust is a key word) and seek their advice. I’m just a random dude on the internet that figured out how to cycle a key and make a light go away 😂

@TheBrokenBolt The video was a great help. THANK YOU. Mine came one day due to me pushing the sit back a bit hard. I did disconnect the cable under the seat and connected it again. But still was on.
