Reset: Freedom From and Freedom To

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Gal. 5:1
When Christians usually think of freedom, we usually think of freedom from something. In this verse the freedom is from a “yoke of slavery”. It is telling us that prior to coming to Jesus we were slaves to something. This is true and we will look at our slavery in a moment, but freedom is also TO something. When someone gets out of prison, he is free from prison, but he is now free to enter the free world. We are going to examine a number of things we are free from and what we are now free to.
