For the first video of 2025, I wanted to share some habits I've been cultivating since last year and plan to keep up with this year :) On one of my worst days in 2024, I joined Trainwell out of impulse because I was tired of feeling sorry for myself, and it's crazy how I've kept to a consistent routine since then and how things came full circle and Trainwell is now sponsoring this video! You can use my link to take a quiz to find your perfect Trainwell trainer, and get 14 days of free training - go.trainwell.net/cloudyhills Journalling, meal prepping, reading and even a little cozy video gaming are the other simple but powerful habits that honestly, romanticise life for me. To me, romanticising life isn't about going to the best parties or travelling the world; it's about choosing finding the magic in the mundane, to find joy in the little moments of everyday. I've written down the books I mention in this video, along with all the recipes I showed in my meal prep segment in the description box! I hope it's helpful

I would love to see more about the meal prepping, the containers you used and the inside of the fridge. Stay the veggies fresh through out a whole week? Your way of prepping inspires me a lot! 😊

I love that you rediscovered reading for yourself ;) As an avid reader of fantasy, it makes me so happy to see others love the same books! My all time favourite is "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern, it is really quiet fantasy and very rich in imagery and you can almost smell it while reading - it is so beautiful :D

*added to want-to-read* ✨ also rediscovering reading has made my life 100x better!!

My resolutions are like most people's. I hit my "inches" and weight goal last year (back down to a size 2 from a size 10). So now that my ankle and knee have recovered enough from being broken, I'd like to get stronger and more flexible. The dancer in me hates that I can barely touch my toes now. Last year, my goal was to finish writing my novel and find an agent. Well, it took much longer to finish writing, so my deadline for an agent bleeds well into this year. Cross your fingers. This year, I also want to finish (or get halfway through) my second standalone novel. I'm in the outlining phase and practically begging my two MCs to fall in love already, but they refuse. Maybe it won't be a contemporary fantasy romance after all... and just a contemporary speculative fiction. A lot of my goals since I hit my 30s are "keep it up." Keep exercising. Keep meal prepping. Keep your home clean. Keep out of bed on your days off. Keep your plants alive. Keep your laundry pile small. Maybe this is easy adulting for some, but I've got my reasons why these require a lot from me. Two years ago I wanted to create more art. I did, but they were small bujo projects. So last year I was going to paint during my spring, summer or winter vacation, but managed to get a flu EVERY. BREAK. I lost all my free time to illness. Maybe I can stay healthy this year and finally use the paint I bought? Anyways, love the video. Your content always motivates me to do something around my home or lifestyle.

The whole "keep it up" mindset is so relatable, for sure. I used to guilt trip myself for not being able to keep up with "simple" habits and wondered how others do it. But i've learned that occasionally it's also good to give yourself some leeway and say, "today i'm not doing anything, i'll pick it up again tomorrow!" as a breather 😮💨

You are a genius! Meal prepping all the ingredients and not just eating the same thing 🤯🙏 edt: I think it sounds like you are a great reader :)

Great to see you enjoy reading :) When I was younger, I used to devour 1000 page books like it was nothing. When my life got busier and more stressful, I found it hard to pick up books. Last year I started actively reading again, and I managed to reach my 25 book goal! Some of your recommendations will definitely go on my want to read list ^^

I've actually found that alternating between "bigger" books and novels really helps me to consistently read! And 25 books sound amazing, it's also more about the quality than quantity either way 😌

Sorry to hear about your depression some time ago, well life has its ups and downs. My way - I believe establishing a routine helps to eliminate some form of mental burden, especially for the creative soul. Mornings and bedtime, I read, yoga, catch up bits of Netflix, and journal/meditate. Sounds boring haha but I’m seeking to strive a consistent balance from the hassles in life. P.S I always ❤ the coziness vibe you give! Have a safe & healthy year ahead :)

Evelyn Hugo ruined me for other books too!! I just had to take a little break before I picked up another haha I am excited to try the Shepherd King series, I’m a big fan of interesting magic systems and love when romantasy is more fantasy than romance. Thanks for the recs and thanks for sharing pieces of your life with us 😊

It's normal to feel super stressed about food planning, it's very Sisyphus-coded and leaves one wishing they never had to try making meals ever again lol It was really draining me until I made a spreadsheet with recipe sources and ingredients, so at least shopping the right stuff became easier. I am yet to try the restaurant style prep, I don't feel like I'm ready to mix and match stuff yet but helping to kick start (via prepping veggies/sauces) my known and loved recipes sounds like a great idea :) Happy New year! 💙

i felt so tired everytime after meal prepping whenever i did the same meals for the week. but this whole "i'll just chop all the veggies for all my fav recipes so i can cook in 15 mins the rest of the week" system works so well for me and it's way less time-consuming!

Love this! I've also started cultivating better habits. I started in December last year because I got ahold of the book Atomic Habits by James Clear. A very easy, yet challenging read about the very thing you talked about in this video: Habits. He goes into a lot of detail about how to maintain habits and find value in them by rewarding yourself for doing them and not rewarding yourself if you don't do it so you'll feel more drive to do it again. I highly recommend reading it ❤ Happy habits!

Hi! If you enjoyed The seven husband, I recommand you to read also Daisy Jones and the Six by the same author! It’s the story of a fictional music band from the 70s told by its former members in the form of an interview! The audiobook experience is also really enjoyable! I'm currently reading The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield and the firts chapters reminds me a bit of Evelyn Hugo 😊

i was waiting for a new video for so long (or that's how it felt, like a really long time haha). and you know what? this year i'm trying to improve different aspects of my life, and as you said, i'm doing one tiny step at a time. And about the books, the only one I read it, was the seven husbands of evelyn hugo and besides the fact that the author has a really good writing style, the book itself is not my favorite, the story is so bland tbh and I still haven't finished (and I brought the book like 3 years ago or something like that). But I'll give it a try to your other recommendations

Love this for you, you're doing great. My new years resolutions are to start working out and eating healthier, cook more and learn new recipies, and try (and stick with!) new creative hobbies. So far so good, I've already started working out and am working on a miniature room :) Whats the app you use to track your books?
