What makes this song so heartbreaking, is that it's Issun singing about how he wished how he didn't run away from his destiny as Ammy's celestial envoy, and could follow her onto the Ark. You can hear that he wished that he could turn back time, and it thinking of all the good times he had with Ammy. And in the song, he's desperately hoping that Ammy can hear his song, and is asking that if there is any hope of them meeting again, to meet him at Sakuya, their 'favorite cherry tree'. I played all the way through Okami, doing and meeting everything and everyone, and here, when this song played, you could see how far you came, and just how many people believed in Ammy.

I always felt that the song was about Amaterasu singing about everyone she lost when the Celestial Plain was invaded by Orochi and Yami's forces and that the 2nd verse was about leaving behind the friends she made on the mortal plain.

+annapantsu For me games like Okami should be top of the market instead of games like CoD or Gta and stuff, sure, I can enjoy those, but I can't fall in love with those games like I did Okami. There's just so much more story and character in games like Okami, Sly, Undertale, etc. I've like played Okami over 10 times because it's so good. I even enjoyed the sequel Okami-Den. Thank you for covering a game with such a beautiful soundtrack and an even greater story.

Genus Entertainment Õkami was the gods fighting back against the evil corrupting the world, it's quite saddening that greatness is all that is negativeness, it's in the news daily, I feel like the game Õkami, surrounded by so much evil, I've not yet had a happy thing happen to me, but I refuse to give up, doing that would crush the light in this world, as no matter how little I touch someone's heart, it resonates onto others, this game though despite being unloved like it should may not have been intended as a means of fighting the evil, but as a way to resonating the power of good through something considered bad by religion, something that for so long has just been a second puppet like the government by the forces of evil to create hatred amongst people, gaming yes it's bad, but not for what it teaches, as we can't win by doing nothing that's why games are so negative influencially, but not actually are negative realistically, due to the lives gaming has saved and will save, I guess I'm rambling a little, but, you get the point I hope that gaming is fairly recent, meaning something big is coming the world must prepare spiritually for and that is the great Awakening

I wish to rank you for this amazing rendition of reset, when I was a kid I asked for this game for Christmas and my aunt found it while she was living with us. I still have the exact copy she gave me over 13 years(ish) later this was the last thing she gave me before having a silent heart attack and passing away a few weeks later. I was in the final boss when I got the news and every time I hear it I start to cry. This song has deep sentimental value to me and is extremely beautiful as well, love this song and love your version thank you!

Anna I'd just like to say, YOU are a gift from the GODS! This game has a deep place in my heart and I think it's probably my favorite ever PS2 game. Sadly I came home one day and the disc had a crack on it and it would never work again. My heart broke that day, but this song just mended those peices. Anna, have you ever read Constellations? It's a *_fantastic_* Worm/Okami crossover. Best if you're familiar with Worm, but if you're not, just know it's a super-grimdark setting where people with superpowers are constantly making the world a darker and worse place, making incredibly bad decisions because everyone's too self-centered (or too blinded by trauma) to be rational. Its official catchphrase is "making bad decisions for good reasons," while the fan phrase is "everything gets worse." Now add Ammy, who completely throws the status-quo into a woodchipper and confuses everyone into submission by doing hilarious things that are 100% in character for her. Also, lots of heartwarming things, because she's all about the heartwarming, too.

God I remember loving Okami in my "wolfaboo" (does anyone still use that term?) years, but it left an impact much bigger than I could have imagined, even if I only played it because it had a pretty wolf in it. It's a beautiful game, and I'm glad it's finally getting more recognition, being rereleased for the PS4, Switch, and PC. Beautiful cover as well, put tears in my eyes.
