I know I'm 2 years late, but bear with me. AHAHAHA BEAR. I wanted to sing this for your birthday in 2014, but I was just so bad at singing that I wasn't satisfied with it. I tried recording this again the following year after a little improvement but once again, my voice just wasn't good enough to even sing a few lines. SO ROUND 3! I tried again this year, a few months ago and this is the result of it. I know it isn't the best and I was going to rerecord some lines sooner but my mic cord broke and I've been unable to record anything for the past month even when I finally had time to do so (hence why there are no new covers) so I'm hoping this solo is alright by itself!
I know you love this game and its osts and this has always been my favourite song out of all the osts you've ever shown me. So I really really really wanted to cover this for your birthday! ;v;

This song is so beautiful, but horrifying when you realize that it is Amaterasu singing about how she lost literally everyone she knew when her home was invaded. If I could have just one wish I would/ go back to who I was/ yesterday, and I'd say/ My goodbye's to you... This is so very sad... Poor Ammy. It is amazing how she is able to be the Derp doG we love so much in that game...

I always saw the first verse from Ammy's perspective and the second one from Issun's perspective, considering that "all my prayers will reach you safely where you are" is referring to his prayers to Amaterasu. The simplicity and desperation in the first reflects the grief Ammy was feeling after the faux image of Issun she saw.

It’s been 5 years and I still come back to this specific cover of Rest. It’s so calming and sung beautifully. I actually played it when I finished my play through of Okami it made the ending feel so much more heart warming than it already is.

Dottovu This reminds me of a thing I saw. I was reading a Game Informer and the game over thing was like a "Who would win......" thing, and one part was "....in a dog show?" and the contestants were Ammy and Diamond Dog. They had the "correct" answers at the bottom, and it said DD would win. I took one look at this and thought "Excuse me........ I may have never played MGS5, but I'm pretty sure the dog can't control nature." in my best Dan Avidan impression.

When I was homeless and lost nearly everything I had I would listen to this song at least twice a day at the library. I’d get a set of headphones for a computer and listen to reset thank you version and the piano arrangement. Occasionally the one with lyrics, but mostly just the instrumentals and I always had an idea of what the song was about and it being called “reset” was a good hint. The first time I heard this English cover I cried… if could have just one wish… it used to be to go back to who I was and be comfortable and not have the problems of the present. But the song always made me feel like I should except the past is in the past and it’s never coming back.

Your work and your voice are admirable, i know it's a difficult process to change a song from one language to another, and I'm grateful that you loved Reset enough to do that. BUT the sentence " ただ一つ願いが叶うのなら 、昨日の自分にさようなら" means "if i have only one wish, i would say goodbye to MY yesterday's self", which you guys turned into " if i could have just one wish, i would GO BACK TO WHO I WAS yesterday, and I'd say MY goodbye's to YOU". That changes the meaning of the original sentence completely, in the opposite way :((((( My heart's bleeding thinking how ppl will misunderstood a masterpiece like Reset, for those who played and loved Okami, it's so sad :((((
