If the SRS diag tool wont communicate with the SRS you need to replace the SRS module underneath the center console. I have a 2001 Hyundai elantra I got a module from the Junkyard (From a 2002) for $10 and it worked (no more light). at the junkyard make sure the car air bags haven't been deployed, if you cant find one at a junkyard, order one from online or the dealer. some of the newer models may require programming (do your research) but my 2001 did not, I just swapped it out. I also tapped some plastic over the module and connections because if a drink spills near the center it could ruin the module.

I used a bunch of LED's from Amazon. I will give you a list of the LED's I used but the LED's that I used for the shift indicators did not fit right and I had to use a dremel tool to sand the edges down so that they would fit on top of which I had to take the LED's out of the housings they came in and put them in to the original black housings that were in the dash. So be warned some assembly will be required. Other LED's had to be modified to fit too. If you have created an account at Autel at pro.auteltech.com and you registered your device this will work. Download Maxi PC suite for windows and install it. Now you will need a smaller micro SD card (new formatted and no bigger than 32GB and no smaller than 4GB) You need a USB reader for the card At Amazon(paid): amzn.to/3t8HtZF put the card in that, plug it into your laptop or PC. Open up Maxi PC log into your account check for updates and install ALL updates. ARM update will be the first update you need to install. After that all the other updates will install. After you are done those the card is ready for your AL619. I just did this with a 32GB blank micro SDcard, installed it in my AL619 and it works just like the purchased card that came with my unit. If you can't manage the above procedure then contact support at Autel and I'm sure they can help you out.

2005 Hyundai Elantra airbag light came on after accident but no airbag was launched. How do I troubleshoot to see if my airbag is good? I would imagine in your video after clearing the code, if the airbag is not good the code will come back?

Clearing the code will only work if the fault condition no longer exists. If the fault condition is not fixed and you clear the code the air bag light will go out until the next diagnostic cycle (scan) by the computer but if the fault condition no longer exist the light will stay off. If you use the Autel Autolink AL619 ABS/SRS CAN OBD2 Code Scanner At Amazon: amzn.to/20W11pk it will tell you what caused the fault and if the fault condition still exists you can address the problem. As all cars have different systems your troubleshooting will be specific to your car. For example my Santa-Fe has a sensor on the seat that tell the Air Bag system if someone is sitting in the seat. If the sensor fails you will get an air bag light. But not all cars have that system. Yours may or may not have that system. Thanks.

But the scanner should tell you what caused the problem too. In my case it was a dead battery that caused the problem so it was an easy fix for me but I still needed the scanner to reset the light. I just wonder if the air bag light would have reset after so many drive cycles since the fault condition went away. Thus you would not have needed the scan tool to clear the code(s).

+kkovler1 That's what I was hoping that same thing but it never happened (weeks). I think it's a safety feature to force you to take it in to dealer or mechanic so they can confirm the fix and reset the code. In a way I am happy that it does not self clear. If you had an intermittent problem (loose connection) it could self reset and you would never know what actually caused the fault in the first place. Remember this is a life saving safety system. It's essential that it is working 100%. BTW I am very happy to have the scanner for this and my other vehicles just in case. Worth every penny. Thanks.

+Richard Lloyd I bought a £20 ODB scanner on ebay after seeing a car dealer use one, it turns out to be a great piece of kit, my son uses it on high end cars his boss swears by it, and they have a £7000 diagnostic computer, that said these high end computers do monitor many things, a while back i was monitoring one on a car with over heating problems, it tells the speed of the fan, and on this car it had three temp sensors it was monitoring. ps flat battery lights up the SRS system what a joke, 5*****video as usual.

+bmwnasher Thank you very much. I am in agreement on the flat battery triggering the SRS. No idea what the engineers where thinking there. Sounds like you got a good deal on your ODB scanner, does it do ABS/SRS? I know BMW's have three temp sensors (or more). Germans obviously don't want their cars to overheat, which is a very good thing. Most people don't understand how destructive that can be. Oh, look my temp light is on, I will drive it 10 miles to the dealer. Then they are surprised when they are told they need an engine job. I like temperature gauges as opposed to (idiot lights). Mine do still have a temp gauges. Too late when the light turns on. I wish they still had oil pressure gauges too but my Scanguage II has all those functions and some. Richard Lloyd Flat Battery SRS a money maker?.This cheapo does loads SRS ABS and more my sons boss is amazed at it, if i see one i`ll send a link, the car i was monitoring with the computer was a Vauxhall Astra, i agree about the temp light, gauges are a must, dont know about other makes but BMs will shut down when they get too hot. These high tec diagnosis eg, VW Golf Diesel engine crankshaft sensor common fault, and a bitch to change, the diagnostic will only report sensor or wire failure, BMs coil pack failure common fault, diagnostic wil give 3 possibles Lamda probes or coil pack, it`s still really down to trained mechanics, which i aint lol. you are.

It's a great scanner for simple to advanced diagnosis. For basic stuff a cheap scanner will do the job but if you want access to advanced functions this scanner will not let you down. I had the same issue. My cheap OBDII bluetooth scanner and the torque app on my Android device (though very useful) would not access the airbag system. The scanner has paid for it's self in the few times I have used it. I am sure the dealer would have charged me at least $45 just to diagnose and who knows how much to clear it for the three or four times that I have needed it now. I am very happy I bought it. Thanks.
