Just sharing this in case anyone else gets stuck - if you can't find SSOClient in Program Files (x86), try looking for the Star Stable Online folder in Program Files. SSO changed where their files are stored and that's where I found mine :')

i did everything as instructed but when i was rebooting star stable it didnt have the thing at the top you said that shows you successfully downloaded it and when i press the home key it doesnt bring up that big section it only shows 3 lines of random about my fps and server. i dont know what i did wrong

It could be because your computer simply isn't able to handle the heavy filter like DOF :(

hi! for some reason my client doesnt show up in the ProgramFiles86 folder and only the regular ProgramFiles folder. I linked it to the reshade application anyway, but then when im in game every filter option works perfectly besides mxao..

Thank you for the tut! I’ve downloaded reshade on my PC in the past (about 6 months ago maybe) and ADOF worked back then. I deleted reshade until today, and now ADOF won’t work on my PC. I have no idea why 😅

Strange... it could be because you most likely have downloaded more new things onto your computer and your storage is too full for ADOF to process properly. This goes back to the thing I was saying that reshade is a lot for most computers to process!

@@starechoes3058 I did figure it out! I cant exactly remember, but the files were messed up in some way, so i had to go through and manually delete every reshade file/presets, re -downloaded it, and it worked

Hey Haley! I'm having a bit of trouble with reshade, I'm on a windows 11 laptop and when i download reshade and put some effects on it it doesn't show unless I'm in my hs (even if I'm in my hs it turns off and on repeatedly) do you think i can fix it or is it just my computer??

Hm that’s interesting… it is most likely your computer not being able to process SSO and Reshade at the same time. You can try turning your graphics down, closing all other apps, I like to have Google open to listen to music, or turning off shadows and reflections in SSO.

In short, you download the file, open the folder, open your SSO client folder, then copy the files into client. Boom!

Hmm... there are other Reshade tutorials that might help, I'm unsure how to help if you followed the tutorial? I'm not sure what steps could've altered the process, you could uninstall and try again?

My sso client was in the one without the program files without the x86 is that ok or is that why the presets keep coming out do dark and wrong?

All you have to do is FIND your SSO folder, it doesn't matter where it is. If the presets are not acting correctly, it could be something with your SSO settings? Or something wrong with your computer settings? Try messing around with some things!

Hey. Im downloading presets and trying them out but there seems to be a problem. When the ppl who make the presets do photos, the horses are visible and the effects only in the background. When I turn it on , the horse is blurred with the background, out of focus. What do I do so the game focuses on the horse and human?

It could be because your computer can’t handle the graphics. Otherwise I’m unsure..

There's videos on that, but basically you just copy and paste the downloaded preset into your client folder where you have your reshade located :)

My depth of field shaders work fine until I enter photo mode, is it incompatible with photo mode or am I missing a step?

Maybe try going into your reshade home, and locating the section that says "Depth Input Upside Down" and change the settings from 0 to 1. See if that works!

I would search around in your desktop, you might have two drivers? Or you're just looking in the wrong place? There is usually two different SSO folders so just explore around until you find it!

Thanks for the tutorial! I’ve had reshade for awhile, but when i went to go download Sunbell’s shaders it says : (Filename) Was blocked because this type on file can harm your device. And ive downloaded it before and it gave me a virus and threat protection alert

It is going to do that because your computer doesn't recognize the file, I always just say "keep anyway" and it's never done anything to my computer. Your device is just going to think it's a threat, if you are uncomfortable downloading it that's totally fine but I've never had any issues!

The home key is usually located at the top of your keyboard. It depends on what computer you own though!

There is a few different rainy presets you can download for free, otherwise the quintsr effect (I don't quite remember what it's called) makes the ground look wet. The actual rain DROPS you see in my videos I had to add in with editing myself. That isn't a reshade filter!

That is most likely the case, if your computer is allowing other reshade filters to work then it probably is just because SSO and Reshade are too much to process!

Does reshade work on parallels on mac? Unfortunately we have the most techy family but no one in the house owns anything other than apple. I want shaders soooo bad there must be a way with parallels windows.

I'm not sure.. you might want to research that. Reshade I know works on Windows though, NOT mac.

Hey Haley! I followed all the steps you said in your video, setting it up, etc. I'm pretty sure I did it all right. Though when I log on SSO, it dose not show the words or whatever they are at the corner of the screen. Then when I'm in SSO I hit the Home key and nothing happens. Hmm... it's hard for me to determine the issue since I don't know your computer, perhaps it could just be that your computer doesn't comply with reshade? What kind of computer do you have?

Hey! I had this same problem, I went into the "windows" folder on the "This PC" shortcut and then opened "Programs" instead of "Programs (x86)" and saw the SSO client, you should be all set from there!

It could be too much for your computer, try making sure all other unnecessary tabs are closed!

Try searching in the file explorer, my computer has 2 drives and so it was in my D drive instead of my C drive!

I always close all excess tabs otherwise sometimes computers just don’t have a strong enough graphics card to run reshade smoothly.

I put this on my client, and I can see that it works if I boot the client up directly but that doesn't let me log in so that's a no good. Launching the game normally doesn't make anything reshade related appear, not entirely sure what I did wrong?

Hmm... that sounds interesting. It's hard for me to gauge what you did wrong since I don't know your laptop. Is it possible that you missed a step? You could try uninstalling it and trying again?

hello, ty for making this vid but one qeustion (anyone can awnser), when i take pictures some of the things on the preset dont word and will not show or glitch badly. is this normal? and what can i do about it?

Good news, this is normal! LOL Reshade supposedly fixed this in their newest update because mine works fine whenever I open camera mode. It's a little complex to explain, but basically you're going to go to the home tab which all the presets. Click on the long bar that says "edit global preprocessor definitions". Once you do that, locate the row that says "depth_input_upsidedown_" which should be the second little button. Change that to "1". That should fix your problem, however once you exit photomode, everything will be upside down again, so you just have to go back in and change it back to "0". It is a little annoying but it's the only trick that is available with Reshade technology right now!

Hm.. did you put the files in SSO Client? If not then you could've just not installed it correctly. I'd uninstall Reshade and start from the beginning, making sure you follow the tutorial EXACTLY as I say.

Some filters may not work on all computers. I use ADOF for a blurred background and the quint.sr (i think) effect for the water.

That's weird... if reshade isn't opening then it probably did not install correctly. You might have to look up how to change your UI hotkey to fix this.

I think you just delete the file. Just double click your uMMmmMm uHhHh- oh folder. Sry I haven’t been on my computer for a bit. And then if the reshade file and logo is on your Home Screen when you log into your computer, go to “Desktop” on the left, right, bottom, or top, however your computer provides that. And then you scroll until you see Reshade, and RIGHT click it. Do not left click it. And then you should see random options like maybe remove from Home Screen, copy, paste, add to Home Screen, and random stuff like that. But, find “Delete” and left click that. And then you wait until it loads, and voila.

could anyone help with when you click effects and the text turns red and it doesn't work?

I was following this tutorial and when I opened the Star Stable Online folder I didn't have anything in it, including the client folder. Not really sure what to do from here. :(

I just downloaded the reshade and it says to press the home key to start the tutorial but when I press it, it doesn't work. I have tried logging off and back on a few times but it still does not work. If you know anything that could fix this I would really appreciate the help.

Hey Haley I’m wondering what to do because I downloaded it and it worked for about an hour, then I logged off and then I few minutes later I logged back on. This is where it gets tricky, I got on sso and it said program not responding, so I deleted reshape and got on and it worked. But I want reshape really bad so I re-downloaded it onto my pc. Then it dident work and said program not responding again. I redownloaded reshape and it still dident work, I also restarted sso and still nothing happend. Sorry for the long message I’m just so mad and confused I no this is no one’s fault but do you have any ideas that could help me in any possible way pls help!

Hmm.. that sounds tricky. I'm not quite sure, if Reshade is only working at certain points it could be due to the fact that your computer does not have a strong enough graphics card. I'd recommend uninstalling Reshade completely and repeating the steps. If that doesn't work then I'm not quite sure...

It is a computer part that must be purchased. They can be kind of expensive so if you're willing to invest in a higher quality graphics card then perhaps reshade will work, however, there are no guarantees and I personally wouldn't buy a new card.

Hi, I have a problem when I turn on sso with reshader, the floor flashes black and I can't find the cause anywhere.🙁

It could be because your computer is trying to process reshade and can't quite get it to work right! Maybe try turning your graphic downs in SSO settings, or just using smaller filters that don't make your computer work as hard.

All I can say is that it wasn't installed correctly. Usually people have to uninstall and reinstall in a few times.

Usually this means your computer can’t handle the graphics of it :(

I got reshade and it works! Sadly a lot of the effects including background blurs don’t work on my PC

Oh I'm sorry! Sometimes the computer isn't strong enough to run all the effects at once! Especially in a busy area in SSO
