Great video. It would be interesting if you do a video about pathology job market. im looking to go into path but pretty unsure if there is a positive job market.

I'm about to start the job search process myself. My current impression is that the job market is good. This is just a sample of what's currently out there: www.pathologyoutlines.com/jobs

Hi Dr. Wang, thanks for the info. How many residency interviews did you attend? Do you think it was enough, too many, or not enough?

I attended ~12-15 interviews, which is way more than needed. The only reason I did was because I had a desired geographical location. But this was back when interviews were in person. Now that interviews are virtual, attending interviews much easier.

Thank you very much for the videos. They are really helpful. I do have a question. How do programs see a LoR coming from PhD attending. I am doing a bench research in his lab and want to include his LoR. Thank you again for your time.

Hi Farhan, thanks for your support. If you think the PhD attending can write you a strong recommendation letter, then it will be looked positively for your application.

Hi, Dr. Wang. How are you? Just a quick question. Do the programs consider the quality of LoRs when RANKING applicants after they have interviewed? Or the decision is mostly based on how your performed during the interview day.

In my experience, they definitely do.

Program directors check our personality and communication skills a lot for Internal medicine residency. Does our personality and communication skills less important for a pathology interview when compared to other clinical residency interviews??? Please reply🙏

Having good communication skills both written and spoken is very important in pathology, especially to properly convey the diagnosis to the clinicians.
