It's amusing to see people getting upset over this game being available only on GOG. The game is DRM-free, which means that once it's purchased, you don't need GOG to play it. You can add it to any launcher you prefer. I believe Steam has had a negative impact on PC gaming. It created platform Fanboys on PC.

GOG is objectively the best of the launchers. Beautiful ui, both original Galaxy and Galaxy 2.0. You can use it as a universal launcher so you can access Steam, Origin, Epic, Uplay, etc. libraries all from inside GOG Galaxy. The launcher is very customizable, so no ugly ui elements, and you can even choose to hide the store from view to eliminate distractions and temptations. And of course, it's primary selling point is that your games are your games. It's always DRM-free. You don't have to automatically install updates. In fact, you can even roll back updates to any prior version. You can save offline installers. Its store has access to thousands of old games you can't find anywhere else (legally anyway). The only downside is it might not always have some of the newest games, if the developers don't want to sell it DRM-free. But these days it tends to have 80-90% of most modern AAA releases anyway, might just take a few years before they go to GOG. Edit: I probably sound like a shill. I'm just a big fan.

Claire was the first campaign I did in the PS1 release. I've 100%'d only the PS1 but never got round to the N64/Dreamcast/PC versions so im not a master of this one and it's been a hot minute since last played this so it'll be fun to blast through this again and on PC. I've already done all versions of RE1 n 3 from way back early 00s on all versions. I just wanna jump into RE2 on another system :D.

Looking forward to playing this again. Though I am curious as to what if any differences this version might have. As I originally played this on the N64 and never on the PC. Hopefully it will be close to the original as possible or if not have different versions to switch to as an option.

Man these Resident Evil games are so cool. GOG, when are you guys going to open your platform up to be more friendly towards Linux? I love DRM free gaming, however, I can't earn achievements or use cloud saves on what feels like 90% of my entire GOG library UNLESS I stay on Windows, which prompts me to buy games off Steam instead. I thought by now, with the Steam Deck being as successful and prominent as it is, that Linux integration would have been a no brainer, but it's been 3 years since the launch of the Steam Deck, yet Windows is all you guys prioritize. I think you guys are leaving quite a bit of money on the table here.

The FMVs don't display correctly for me. They only take up like 2/3 the height of the screen and sit on the top side. Maybe the FMV aspect ratio just doesn't match the rest of the game, but it still shouldn't be offset like that.

Crazy thing is, this one is a combination of all the RE2 games, except for the missing option of blood color. That was an N64 exclusive one I think? Anyways, best part is that it doesn't have the "Karen" attitude of less gore. In the N64, you couldn't bisect a zombie. In this one, you can, just like the PS1!

I played the first few minutes of the gog version of Resident Evil 2, but I ran into a problem. Outside the area of r.p.d. no music was playing, while I did not see such a problem in the ps1 and gamecube versions. Does the PC version of Resident Evil 2 have this problem or is it from gog?

@@TheRoguePrince0 Are you dumb or a child? It's funny because my Steam launcher glitched on me yesterday, so I had to reinstall it. When the game is DRM-free, you don't need GOG or the Steam launcher. I personally use Playnite as my launcher.
