@@sonicartzldesignerclan5763 While yeah, they might seem like a general trope for videogames' achievements, I think resident evil does this achievements trope way more fun than any other series for me. And the reason I feel is simple - resident evil can be finished pretty fast if you know what you're doing. Even impossible sounding achievements like "finish game without saving" doesn't take too much time, since games can be finished in under 3 hours. Challenging, but fun because it doesn't take too much time AND your prior knowledge gets handy, while still having your skills being tested under the stress of time (when doing speedrun achievements). Replayable as heck. By the way, the original comment wasn't about achievements being innovative or original. It was about challenge and fun, and that entirely lies on the game itself. Well, that and lack of bs achievements in the list. Thank god.

Getting this felt really good. One tip for anyone who wants to get it: S+ on both Leon and Clair gets you the best infinite weapons in the game (Bazooka for Leon and Minigun for Claire), that makes it easier to finish the other achievments, as well as giving you the "Hardcore" trophy, so I would recommend that. It requires you to speedrun the game (2h for the B campaign and 2 hours and 30 minutes for the A campaign) with 3 or less saves on hardcore, so only do it if you are confident that you remember the campaign from top to bottom

I have a cool story about how I got the "I dont need no stinkin gun". I hadn't actually killed any zombies with the knife at this point all the way up to the first fight with birkin. In the fight, I ran out of ammo completely, so I pulled out my knife. After 2 slices, he went down, and I got the achievement. Honestly I thought the achievement was specifically for defeating him with the knife and I just got a difficult achievement by accident, until I read the description.

The knife is the ultimate weapon against birkin. I watched a S+ walkthrough from Darkness and he literally killed birkin 1 with the knife only

Tip for anyone trying to Platinum this and trying to get an S+ rank, use two knives, a flash bang, and a grenade on the first Burken fight. Go to the right shoulder of burken and start slashing him on his right shoulder (it should it both the back and shoulder doing double damage) when he stands up fully step back and throw the grenade (doing that gives you enough time to put him in a downed state, after he steps up again flash bang him, on his second time going down he will get back up immediately, strafe to the right while continuing to knife. The reason for bringing two knifes is it case you get grabbed, you can stab Burken in order to negate damage from the first grab and continue with the fight.

After going through both A runs, I can confirm doing minimalist and frugalist on Claire was way more frustrating than Leon😂. Now all that's stopping me is hunting down the last 2 files I'm missing for that sweet Plat. Finished re3 nightmare yesterday. For the channel concept, I get that platinum-youtubers look up the trophies beforehand but for myself as a trophy-hunter, knowing them beforehand takes a lot of the fun out of it for me. Cause I don't have my own first experience of the games but follow a route I feel forced into, so I stopped doing that and it felt very freeing and gave me reasons to replay games I liked to grab all remaining trophies I couldn't collect the first time. But of course you do you and play how you enjoy your games. I just always think "I couldn't play like that if I made platinum videos".

just got the platinum for RE2 Remake and RE3 Remake this week! RE2 was a lot of fun, I used Darkness Everyman's guide to get Claire A S+ & Leon A S+ done (to get hardcore/s) the other trophies were not too bad. RE3 was quite easy outside of the final boss being a pain in the ass on inferno.

hardcore was hard enough sure, but going for no health and no box run on the easiest mode still provided a challenge, and jump scares, well done capcom ! proper brilliant game, even though, i despise the format of completing a game multiple times, and having ground myself out completing resident evil 7&8 just prior to this, be assured, these will be the last of this type of games i ever play, until resident evil 9 comes out :P having said all of this, 7 was perfect only having to complete it say 3 times tops

When getting the raccoon in fourth survivor I did that run with grenade launcher on training and just used an acid round on tyrant No way out was painful (it took a while and it was very painful when the flamethrower didn’t work as it is good for large crowds and you have lots of space to run) but i beat it and then i beat it again with under 60 bullets and never again

RE3's Inferno mode wasn't too bad with the infinite RPG, but that final Nemesis fight was scuffed. After 10 tries I beat him and the game screwed me again at the end by somehow failing me when you're supposed to shoot Nico and I had to fight Nemesis 5 more times to actually get the platinum. 💀

Okay, really smart video idea I really wish I thought of it. I just wished you watched maybe a speed run or two because there are definitely easier was to beat Berkin 2 and I don't mean with the knife but with next gen at 60 frames it wouldn't have been bad to use one on him. One crane use is the strat and it really just takes half a tank of fuel and you get plenty through out the game. I mostly play RE2R on pc now but still such a smart video.
