I played the demo yesterday with my RX 570 8gb and Ryzen 5 5500 in native 1080p with a mix of high and max details and all options anabled. I reached around 35-45 fps and the experience was absolutely smooth and stable. No stuttering and no noticeable slowdowns. I guess that currently the game runs a bit better on AMD GPUs, especially at lower framerate.

Well, I don't how many games need to be released , RE4 remake, Wo-Long, Elden RIng at launch, etc. before people realize that Nvidia and the gimmicks are not alll they are cracked up to be. I still am amazed that people want a GPU and pay extra to have frames injected by an algorithm rather than actually produced by the GPU they are paying top dollar for. My favorite was "Nvidia crads don't do well @ 1080p becuase it not pushing the GPU enough" LMAO

For 1080p gaming its till best GPU... You can even max out the settings keeping textures in Medium ( due to VRAM only 6 GB) . I am playing almost all games with my RTX 2060 @ max settings except Textures in medium and I get 60+ fps ... Only game I struggled to run with my RTX 2060 is The Last of us Part 1... My RTX 2060 paired with i5 12400f and 32 GB DDR4 3600 MHZ

I think this is a prime example of optimisation. Doesn't matter what card you have, optimisation will define the experience. From this test, it seems that the cards in the 20 series era and below have been more favoured for performance.

All the cards stutter, regardless of settings. It happens every time the camera moves around a lot. Even RivaTuner couldn't completely alleviate the stutter on the 3060 when capped to 60. I never use the in-game fps cap because it still stutters anyways. This game needs a lot of work.

@@yeetus59 just got my Rx 6600 this week with 8gb VRAM and 8gb RAM. i have played well into chapter 10 and the stutter was mostly noticeable during early parts of the games especially the village and the church just after you get ashley. from my observation the games have awful frametimes and straight up freezes for a good 30 seconds but never crashed, my cpu should be more than enough but just below the recommended (ryzen 5 2600). From what i saw in this video is that Kryzzp has 16gb of RAM but the game never went above 7.6gb usage. I think the game still needs some polish for the stutter since i never had such problem with RE7 and RE8

The RE 2 and 3 remakes ran extremely well until the DX12 Ray Tracing updates. Even with all new settings disabled, the game ran significantly worse to the extent that Capcom had to raise the listed system requirements and released the old version of the games in the Steam beta section. I sort of expected similar performance to that with this game and it holds true, hopefully they do some work on the frame time issues. The ray tracing in these games is also relatively light weight so it may not be a bad idea to test ray tracing in this game.

@Radek I thought the same thing when I tested that game. DX12 may have features like hardware ray tracing but it's honestly not worth the stability decrease from DX11 in most things. It's also worth noting that running RE2/3 and the Witcher next gen in DX11 mode still suffered major performance loss from the updates so I'm guessing developers keep breaking their games just to support features that most people will never bother turning on.

The frame time issues may be to do with the Denuvo implementation, it usually taxes specific CPU cores causing an instability in frametime particularly when using multiple cores to deliver a frame

In my end, the VRAM counter that is actually displaying on the Video Settings this time around is somewhat accurate compared to any OSD reading I've used so far. Maxing out Shadows or going over the VRAM limit of what the game suggests causes the game to stutter on my end. Putting shadows to Mid/Low and Textures on High 1GB/0.5 makes the frame-time spikes almost eliminated (although some areas still have huge stutters, but it could be because of the area loading in, Digital Foundry has the same issue). This is on a GTX 1060, paired with Ryzen 3 3100, 16GB DDR4 @ 3200MHz, game is installed on an NVME SSD. In short, avoid using High Textures (2GB) or higher and Shadow Settings anything higher than Mid for 6GB cards or just don't go to the VRAM limit of what the game suggests and absolutely avoid Hair Strand settings, as it saps a lot of VRAM with minimal visual increase. As other state, it could be Denuvo doing a lot of checks, causing single thread bottleneck (this is not the fault of the CPU, but as a fault for it's optimization for its DRM.)

If so, it might be worth it to re test once you get your hands on the full game! Maybe even a side by side comparison to see how much of a difference it is. For me Shadows on high instead of Max solve all the stuttering problems with a 3060, you can put other settings on max.. other than hair. Also as shown in this video you can lock the FPS for perfect experience, i locked it at 64fps

The problem is that this demo version is very unoptimized. I played recently the RE7 and RE2 remake on my old Acer Nitro 5 laptop (i5 -8300h, GTX 1050 (3GB), 16 GB RAM) and the framerate was very smooth (50-70 fps) at 1080p medium/high settings without stuttering. However, RE4 DEMO was an unplayable mess at the same setting, so I lowered the resolution to 900p and put it to the low settings so that I could play it at 30-40 fps...

Hey Kryzzp! Just commenting to let you know FSR destroys the image quality in this game, using the RE Engine checkerboarding works much better. To enable it, go to rendering mode and change it to "interlaced". It doesn't look as good as native or DLSS, but it's much better than FSR. Um abraço do Brasil, mano!

I tested this game on a GTX 1080 laptop (Clevo P775DM3-G) on max settings 1080p resolution and it didn't run too well in my opinion, taking into consideration the optimization of previous games. That place near the window of that cabin with the godrays got me in the 40-50 FPS range. There is a stutter near the bear trap after you fight the two villagers outside and there is a huge stutter if you skip the intro cutscene. I hope the final product is more polished than the demo.

Hey dude, you mentioned how previous RE games had no issues with stutter and thats just not true, and i dont mean youre lying but people forgot or didnt realize that village had HORRIBLE stutter any time you killed an enemy, certain enemy actions and other stuff. The reason was becausr of denuvo, which we found out because the cracked pirated game ran flawlessly and digutal foundry made a video addressing it and that had call out and bad publicity was the only reason the pc version got vixed after a month or two. Mind you i beat the game the first time like that. I didnt really pick up on it that much either and just assumed it was my pc at the time

Yes more than ok, my rig is a Ryzen 5 3600 and GTX 1070.... I can play every game out there easily in 1080p, 1440p a lot of the time with a slight perfomance drop and even 4k in some titles. It depends what type of games you like? I like the single player open world games but if you are a competive shooter type of gamer then you will want more than 60fps. Put it this way if i was going to upgrade my rig at the moment then the 5800x & RX 6700 is exactly what i would be buying.

Ok after seeing this and try it on my Rx5600XT, i can say for sure that this game is favoring AMD GPUs then Nvidia. I adjusted the texture setting and the shadows on high with everything else on max or "on", and i can have more consistent 60 fps then the 3060 shown here, still the frame times where kind of messy just like here in the video, but I think a little bit better stability after tweaking those 2 settings i said before. This shouldn't be possible, usually correct me if I mistake, but I'm pretty sure that the 3060 is just better then the RX5600XT, and seeing this i down know if I have to be proud of my GPU or be kind of sad about not so fair performance of the Nvidia counterpart. 😅

my question is if capcom will make a last optimization to the game before releasing it and that's why the demo has so low FPS or directly it's a game with so new graphics that my 3060ti won't be able to pass 120fps stable as I did with 2remake, 3remake, 7 and 8 village?

Also a little idea might wanna try the RX6000 series in this game cause my experience was not that great at 1440p and RTX ON
