They can introduce ideas, but all decisions they make are moderated by a director of some sort (there are exceptions, but this is usually the case). A VA can be good or bad, but a bad product isn't always reflective of their ability. And personally, I love how over-the-top he is.

I would say Capcom was allowed to branch into doing new things, seeing as how people liked 4 for the new camera angle style, how the multiplayer genre was really live at the time, and venturing into a new enviorment a new culture (new to the series, african culture isn't new, obviously), and a militaristic angle that builds on the story of Chris being in the military. Also tying off loose ends with Wesker as he was kind of left on a cliffhanger in 4, as well as bringing back Chris into a game, which he hasn't been in a RE in a while at the time, last time was Code: Veronica. The game had all the reasons to be good, but I think people didn't like how easy it was. Now, the game most RE fans hate is RE6. Jake being added was okay, and Sherry, Ada and Leon returning was good idea too, especially Sherry. But pure hollywood action with the story that nobody can remember was a mistake. Emphasis on hollywood, uncountable amount of lens flairs in 6.

As someone who grew up with the original games, it's because most of the older fans saw this, and RE6, as a huge kick in the face to what made the RE franchise so beloved in the first place. Now i'm sort of hoping we get to see Wesker again in the next RE, seeing him somehow survive AGAIN. It really would cement him as the Series "Big bad." Though how they'd explain him survivng falling into a volcano and being blown up by two rocket launchers is gonna be tough. Unless they go with ol' reliable 'Plot armor'.

I feel like the most illogical yet logical way to bring him back would be what star wars did with emperor palpatine.. Just have him make clones of himself in the event he dies, all the while just pulling more strings in hiding for an indefinite time until Chris dies because he knows chris would be the only one capable of stopping him (boulder punching and what not)

My favorite resident evil game. I know its far from horror and any 'resident evil' games. But I like it as a "game". The story the plot, everything is incredible and amazing. The gameplay and enjoyment was peak for me. I first played the game as a kid. I hope they dont fck everyting up if they make re5 remake. For e.g: This Jill was an emotion and if they use re3r Jill, there would be no meaning. They're completely different and re3 remake Jill doesn't felt like "Jill". This one sacrificed her life for Chris and re3r Jill and Chris in "Death Island" movie like two bro-type friends. Like two strangers. I hope they use this version of Jill or Re revelations 1 Jill. They are look a-like. And this Wesker was literally nailed the "Wesker" character. While Re4 Remake Wesker so goofy. Just like a mob boss. Doesnt fit his character.
