A shoutout to the undersung hero that is the person who created the layout. I can zoom on my phone in landscape to full the screen and it fits PERFECTLY in the screen without cutting off anything important to the game, I still have both runners, the timer and the game, in full. With nothing gone. And I never get that! I'm truly appreciative of that soul.

I had just played RE7 for the first time back in May, so it was fun to watch this game being broken as it’s still pretty fresh. Really exciting race.

I've watched RE7 being speedrun'd like...30 or 40 times. But whenever I play the game I get lost, jumpscared and simply cannot play it. Finished RE8 tho'.

Now I have to imagine people speedrunning escape rooms, trying to clip oob, trying weird movement, taking items where they don't belong and the staff that's forced to watch them is just in a perpetual state of "why"

I was wondering about the extremely low image quality. You never know if it's a limitation of the runner's rig, or the optimal way to play the game.

@@evr5311 some things are fps dependend so low settings = more fps and more is better for some stuff and as they said fps swap to 30fps is better for some other stuff too so they switch fps max settings mid run

Are there any skips they can do on easy that they can’t on hard?

At the moment I can’t think of anything specific, but I think they mentioned Molded doing a Sucker Punch, i.e. a zero-frame startup attack, which can hit multiple times at a high framerate. On Easy, it’s not too much of a burden, but on Madhouse, it can outright kill you. So Madhouse runs have to be done a little bit safer to avoid that.

madhouse runners don't do the out of bounds because it doesn't save time. they already save time by getting the scorpion key early and the out of bounds saves the same amount of time, so no need. plus jack being extra aggro'd gives him more opportunity to kill you. they also don't do all the retries [which reset ethan's movement speed or teleport him slightly ahead], you can only do those in easy since there are less autosaves in madhouse. no alan 2 phone call skip either because it puts you into insta-crit, thus making that skip extra risky and high change of death. they can still do lantern skip and trailer skip, so that's a nice consolation. phew! hope that helps. haha
