You do realize that RE5 and RE6 were the two top selling games in the series right? Nobody cares about the people who constantly cry about them, it doesn't change that RE5 sold 11 million copies and RE6 sold 10.5 million copies. RE7 was and is MASSIVELY overhyped, its not that spectacular and the hillbilly TCS family gets old and annoying fast, RE8 wasn't much better. Resident Evil 7 did a good job of keeping the horror. Most RE games go off the rails at some point, usually somewhere towards the end. For 4, it was about maybe halfway though. 5 got pretty bonkers after the first parts. 6 started there. 7 did go a bit overblown towards the end, but for the vast majority, it was a strong horror narrative based on Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Saw franchise, with a pervasive creepy atmosphere. They had over the top parts, like The Adventures Of Bayou Badass (or Joe Baker's Punchout, if you will), and Call Of Redfield, let alone Jack's Birthday Feast. These were fun, but kept away from the main game, which was kept pure, to the core of the game.

This game has achieved something that was lost from the RE series since the first game. The sense of having no idea what was happening. Yeah, thanks to zombie movies and everything, we kinda knew the first game was all about a virus. The japanese title pretty much gives it away. But from the perspective of the characters, they have no idea. Jill keep calling the creatures monsters, and even demons at some point. It's only midway through the game that the truth starts to uncover. RE7 goes way and beyond, painting such a dark scenario, that at some point you, the player, start thinking you're really fighting monsters and demons for real this time. It's only at the very end that you really understand what is happening and it makes the story so much better. It's a brilliant game, despite being a little weak on the replayability side. I must say, despite being a veteran player, knowing all the ins and outs of this game, it still feels me with this feeling of uneasyness everytime I play. And the ending, when Ethan says how everything is ok now, as the camera shows the Umbrella logo on the helicopter, was such a nice touch! First time players with be glad everything is fine while old fans will know that something is odd. Love it! If only the sequel could have been this good....

Spoiler Alert! The reason why Ethan can endure all of those things you were talking about at the beginning is because in RE8 it’s revealed Jack killed him when he stepped on him with his boot. The only thing he truly survived was getting his hand chopped off, all of the other ones he was like a half mold monster. I’m unsure if you had played that game yet so that’s why he’s so resilient. Also, the unskippable cutscenes kill all progression of replays of this game. In my path to achieve my platinum, not being able to skip the cutscenes across like 5-6 runs was so tedious. It could’ve cut the runtime in half. Also, you should complete madhouse! It’ll keep giving you cool and cool rewards that make replay ability a bit better due to you being a bit OP lmao

While people hate the molded and usually use guides to route all the ammo in the world to never worry about them… I was crazy and wanted to master melee combat. The was their limbs work both as attacks as well as weak points when shooting made the Molded a very cool enemy type for me! Actually prefer them the most when compared to the (very boring/easy) Raccoon City Zombie or Re8’s Lycan (they are the best looking ones, so give them credit!). Also the gameplay formula of 7 is so good, it has been copied even today with Remake 4. And finally this was the first RE engine game. The engine we see in other games like DMC5 or modern Monster Hunter!

Will you review Revelations 1&2?
@frederick07092 ай бұрын
I'll be honest 0,1,2 and 3 are what made the franchise iconic, while 4,5,6 and many other RE games that followed on their action formula were still fine, just not as same as the survival HORROR that made RE be well loved. 7, Village, 2 and 3 remake is what is basically a close but faithful return to form to what made the OG trilogy be special while mixing a modicum of the action formula that 4,5,6 made creating the chemical reaction of Fear AND Tension. You KNOW that it's not all about shooting, it's also about reloading. You have only so much ammo against the many threats that will stand in your way and they too are doing their own way to close the distance or go for the kill, and it YOUR job to SURVIVE within and among the HORROR.

Can you do a retrospective on the show “Turbo FAST”?

I haven't heard of that, so I probably won't cover it.

I feel like RE7 was almost a soft reboot, after the abysmal flop that was RE6.

Flop? RE6 moved a lot of copies almost as much as RE5.
@pian-0g4452 ай бұрын
@@matrix255I guess the reception flopped (which is what caused RE7 to be made the way it was)

RE6 isn't 1 game its more like 4 back to back action games based in the RE series. Its like you have 4 different styles. The more horror action of Leon which has mainly you fighting the zombie outbreaks with a good deal of horror inbetween god awful amounts of quicktime events. start car do quick time to look for keys. Fly plane do quick time events. open door quick time events. Chris is a depressing war story type thing without much horror other than the brutality of the Bioterrorism war. Jake though is basically a power fantasy where one man can basically defeat a G mutant with his fists of steel & all Jake is the most stupid action without much substance & finally Ada is kinda like Ada's mission in RE4 with more action than the that & without any of the basic puzzles (or maybe too basic ones havenae played it in years). Chris & Jake don't really have "puzzles" & Leon has kinda puzzles. 6 is an odd game. It does have the most enemy variaty of any Resident evil game with their being like 4 main generic enemies the zombies, Ja'vo's, crysalid things & the zombie versions. It then has each enemy type have a different mutation path expanding what RE4 & 5 did which gives it well over a hundred different enemies. Its not the best horror game but it is the most fun action game they've made especially with a friend.

The majority of this comment section is talking about one thing... I guess people don't read the comment section before posting the same thing repetitively

IMO, there's even less replay value to RE8. In fact, it's the only RE title I've played, I liked less the second time. They did throw some surprises at you, on the unlocked difficulty mode, but, it's like they gave up on the idea halfway. The beginning, is really cool the first time. Then, it's the worst intro you've ever gone through, the second time. The dollhouse, is another fine example of, " One and done". Great the first time, tedious and boring, the second. The whole Chris section..... Just, why?
