Then, when said wife apparently attempted to murder him, he still loved her and believed that she wouldn't have hurt him out of her own volition - so much that his conviction drove him not to be possessed by Eveline's will after he died, and go through everything he did in Louisiana. So definitely, best husband and father in the franchise, and one of the best husbands and fathers among fictional characters.

The ship crashed because Eveline got out of control and then infected Mia. The Bakers found them and brought both of them in to their home, to which they got infected. Even though Mia was working a job that Ethan had no idea about, she didn’t cause it. And the mold spawned from Miranda who worked on creating Eveline (which was being transported to the village before the ship crashed) This really isn’t Mia’s fault at all, and Mia was the one that was replaced by Miranda for who knows who long and kept in the village

These games are a trilogy and it was confirmed that Ethan will appear in the 3 so we have two scenarios for XI: 1.- Rose will be the main protag and maybe Ethan will be something akin to Evelyn in her mind. 2.- Ethan survives and merged with the fungi thingy at the end of VIII and will be like Ada Wong in the final game for maybe an emotional reunion since he needed to stay low off the record since we still know next to nothing about the group who created the Mold and their motivations. While Evelyn was still a bitch, we can see that she did not hold a grudge against Ethan after VII because we can allegedly say that she save him from being "killed" by lady Miranda as stated on VII, if she doesn't like ya, Evelyn can kill ya on the spot so maybe Ethan is his dad after all in a sick, psycho way and I would love to have him back on RE:IX on the flesh instead of going the route of dead space with the Marker or this case the Mold making him an image of Rose mind. Having said that, some people are starting to say that the final game will be a prequel but I don't know it that would make sense and I would really like to see Rose using her mold powers since many of the infected kids hardly ever use their powers to their advantage
