Resident Evil Village, stylised as RESIDENT EVIL VII.I.AGE is an upcoming first person Survival Horror title developed by Capcom. It will be released on May 7 2021. It will be the first Resident Evil game for the ninth console generation.
Years after the events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Ethan Winters has started over with his wife Mia, finally living in peace and putting the past behind them. However, Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from previous Resident Evil games, suddenly disrupts their life, throwing a devastated Ethan into a new and twisted nightmare in search of answers. The story is set in an isolated mountainous region around a village and the 15th century Castle Dimitrescu, where Ethan and Mia Winters fled in the years following the events of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. During the events of the game, an apparent Blue Umbrella operation led by BSAA Cpt. Chris Redfield assaults the village, sending the two men on radically different paths. Capcom has since confirmed the attacker is indeed Chris, and that Ethan's story will come to a conclusion.
The game is designed in a similar manner as 2017's Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, being a first person game with Survival Horror gameplay mechanics. The enemies are currently not yet known, though one of the enemies is human with canine attributes, invoking a mutation comparable with werewolves. These enemies can hunt the player in packs to be more dangerous. Like Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, this game uses its own currency mechanic. In this case, it uses the Leu, the name of Romania and Moldova's respective currencies.

@no comments well it’s the only thing that make sense if you think about it and use context clues. All game long, most if not every boss kept saying how special Ethan was and how strong Ethan was. That’s why at first, lady D’s comment didn’t make much sense to me. If he was so amazing and special, why would his blood not taste appealing to her? Either she knew he was dead the whole time and was making a slick comment to make fun of Ethan without him realizing it since he had no clue he was dead yet, or her senses were so strong, she could tell something was off about him just by tasting his blood.

@@DarkAroua As a bonus on top of this, Chris did train Ethan for a couple of years, which indirectly made it possible for Ethan to not just rely on pure 'luck', but with at least some competent skills to fight. Being 'dead' with no skills to beat the bad guys is just not enough - I guess Chris may have considered that once they met in Heisenberg's place, starting to believe that Ethan may be of "something else". There is only so much you can do with a couple of years of training opposite to Chris' decades of skills and determination.

Jack “killed” Ethan with the foot stomp. As he was dragging Ethan and Mia into the house, he was fading in and out of consciousness, that’s his head regenerating. He’s been alive in a sense, he is made of mold but he still had his organs and brain and personality keeping his humanity. When Miranda took his heart out, it took his only thing really keeping him alive. He woulda died no matter what since his heart was gone. The dream was canon.

I was rooting for Ethan the whole game. The noble ending with him saving his family hits hard for us who are dads. I don't think he could leave that world, he had became part of it. Even the duke said he could never go back to his world when he dropped him off. Such a great game man. It will be interesting to see how the next game plays out.

I think it’s really cool that despite her being an infant when Ethan dies, she still has a connection and knowledge to know he existed and all he did for her + family. With all the secrets and hidden things these characters have to learn or come to understand - I’m pretty happy knowing Rose knows enough to still love her dad and visit his grave. That tells me she knows some (or all) the truth behind things and no one lied to her about her dad being amazing. Props to the writers for making that type of “closure” to the game.

Man during RE7 I remember everyone was really confused about him putting his hand back and all that. Now at the end of it all when Eveline was like "You've been dead the past 3 years" was just a big shock. Now at the end of this one it just leaves one empty.
