Pretty happy with it so far, people don't realize the point of this wasn't to enhance but rather to preserve the original version and make it run on current hardware with controller support. I personally am stoked for what mods may come of this.

Yeah it's annoying me that people are complaining. People that grew up playing these have been dying for the originals for decades. We are getting them original and everyone is already complaining. Go play re3 remake, re6, and the new re movies and quit ruining this for the old fans. Stop telling Capcom you aren't happy with the og games and want them to add new mechanics and aspects, because they already think people don't want the old games and the only reason we have this is because of GOG. Capcom didn't make this, they were just nice enough to let GOG do it.

@@JGAbstract people also don’t realize that without the source codes there isn’t really much you can do to these. Even Gemeni who did Classic Rebirth said adding in Arrange Mode would be impossible.

Exactly, this is not a REMASTER as some people think. While it has some enhancements, it's more 'quality of live' improvements to run on modern hardware

Honestly, I hope people can import the higher quality video from other versions. Besides maybe some audio weirdness for volume, that's the only real downside of these versions thanks to being the first ports.

My game looked like yours at first but I messed with the setting because it wasn't registering my input on controller to open inventory so I uninstalled and reinstalled and now the game looks like the original PS1 release does, I can't figure out how to fix it, my settings are exactly what yours are but I can't get the game to look high res anymore , any advice???

Monkey paw wish granted here. Why couldn't we get something like that Capcom Marvel Collection but for Resident Evil Trilogy and maybe Dino Crisis 1&2 too. Might've bought RE1 if it came with any extras, especially the original OST. But nope. Very barebones release. These awesome games deserve better. And fans have done that with fan remaster projects. Very disappointing GOG only too.

Я вот в раздумьях. Не фанат Резика - больше по душе Сайлент Хилл. Но для коллекции хотелось бы иметь. Сейчас если взять всю трилогию, то экономишь всего 17%. Вторая и третья ещё не доступна. Думаю подожду когда все части выйдут, а потом - распродажу. Так ГОГ же продает ДРМ фри, не нужно соединение с Интернетом. Главное карточку найти, с которой можно купить.

The PS2 remake version has a way scarier haunted house vibe. This mansion is brightly lit and white. But damn, I love those FMV's! I wish the later remake version of the game kept these FMV's. I always love FMVs in games, they're like mini-movies, and real actors always look better than character models, no matter how realistic the model is it can't beat real people. Of course these FMVs are cheesy B horror movies, but I think they're really cool anyway.

Thanks for this video. Watching this, I think I'll stick to emulating the PS1 version. I got a custom ROM that includes all the Director's Cuts features, the original soundtrack, DualShock and the uncensored cutscenes. You saved me $25 from buying this bundle on GOG. Thanks dude.

They are relatively old games, it is not about bad optimization, many of them were locked at 30FPS because in many cases it was not expected that someone could play them at 60 FPS. Also, if I'm not mistaken with this version of GOG, you can install the Seamless HD mod.

This isn't supposed to be a new port. It's just a rerelease of the original PC port. GOG didn't let's us down at all, this is preserving the original version.

This is LITERALLY a port of the windows 95 version. The FMVs were low frames on that one. The RE2 build is also PC/DC version. Better frames on that build

Only thing special about RE1 pc is you finally get the uncensored intro cutscene and you can skip the loading doors. None of the neat stuff from Director's Cut or Deadly Silence DS are present. Very barebones release.
