Open the door? 70 Zombies spawn in and bumrush my friends and I, get yelled at for "pulling a prank". This happened like seven times.

So a short explanation without spoiling anything. (I know it's old, but it's such an easy game to get and play through it's better to experience yourselves) The "scientists" as you called them were a team of Umbrella Corp operatives sent into Raccoon city to tie up some loose ends. All of the characters are different specialties. The guy with the cloak and the hood is the Assault, the german woman with the full face gas mask is Medic, etc. The other team they ran into was STARS, (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) kinda like a suped up SWAT. A lot of important character in the RE Universe are from STARS. The reason they referred to the large guy by his designation is because he is a B.O.W. (Biological Weapon) and there are many different kinds developed from shambling zombies, to creatures capable of mutating to the point you'd need a jet fighter to take out. Hope that explains some surface level questions. Hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas and have a wonderful New Year! Also I'd love to see you guys get into some DCS videos. There's a short 6 minute short film called ELI 21 that throws you right into the deep end and would be perfect for you guys.

This game is about two factions: the Umbrella Security Service Task Force aka USS Delta Team, their leader is Lupo (the one with the transparent face mask) and the Echo Six (Government Military team) the good guys in the game, their leader is Dee-ay (the last guy that spoke in the trailer). This game is about them and their story when they were deployed to Raccoon City when the virus outbreak happened.

I remember when this came out. It was a really good game, to me. I think most people's issue with it is that it didn't feel like a traditional Resident Evil game. The ones in the past had you navigating tight corridors alone and it was really spooky and intense. You lose some of the spookiness and intensity when you're teamed up with a group of friends/npc's to help you. At least, that's why I think it flopped despite being a fun game.

I really want every character in this game to comeback and be canon in the RE universe. You play as one of the 2 factions in the game. Echo Six, an elite squad in the Special Forces branch of U.S Government. Dee-Ay (Assault Class/Team Leader) aka Crispen Jettingham, a soldier for most of his adult life who could handle any weapon. He was a top choice for leader of Echo Six. He's the one who almost blew up and crushed at the end. Willow (Recon Class) aka Caroline Floyd, a Cree girl who grew up on the Cree/Ojibwe reservation. She excelled quickly through her military career and is highly skilled in knife combat as you can see in the trailer. Party Girl (Surveillance Class/Sniper) aka Sienna Fowler, she got her codename from the wild parties she organized for officials, which were actually used to learn incriminating behavior and information. Tweed (Demolitionist Class) aka Marissa Ronson, a tomboyish British Secret Intelligence Service agent injured in a bomb disposal. Recruited by Echo Six after being taken off active duty in her home county. Harley (Medic Class) aka Erez Morris, a former biker who enlisted mainly to avoid jail time. But he proved himself as a medic, earning his spot on Echo Six. Shona (Field Scientist Class) aka Lawrence Kimbala, his codename refers to the Shona people in a part on Zimbabwe as he is a descendant. He is always in quiet reflection with a solemn look on his face, no doubt due to the many lives he's seen taken by same diseases he studies including his father's. The other team are members of a Umbrella military force, the Umbrella Security Service (U.S.S.) or more affectionately known as the Wolf Pack. LUPO (Assault Class/Team Leader) aka Karena LesProux, formerly French Special Forces. She settled down, married, and had children, but her husband was a violent man. She tolerated the abuse for her children's sake and by relying on her training and discipline as a former soldier. Ultimately though she would kill her husband with her bare hands when he started to abuse one of their children. She was acquitted and tried her best to raise her children as a single mother but her financial difficulties and her instincts as a soldier made her choice for her, work in the private sector where she was recruited by Umbrella. Vector (Recon Class), Real name unknown. All that's known about Vector is he is of Asian/Japanese decent, who's combat ability is highly coveted by his superiors. Trained by several Japanese masters and Resident Evil alumni Umbrella agent HUNK, his skills with a knife are said to be as great or better then HUNK's. Beltway (Demolition Class) aka Hector Hivers, the large man with a prosthetic leg is originally from Puerto Rico and learned early on that making people laugh is a great way to earn trust and friendship which he did with pranks. When he discovered explosives could play a part in the pranks lead him to enlist in the the military as an explosive expert, unfortunately his lack of restraint resulted in a dishonorable discharge and a offer from Umbrella. Spectre (Surveillance Class) aka Vladimir Bodrovski. Was a part of Former Soviet Union's security services, where his lack of any standout physical or social characteristics helped him be practically invisible in any situation. His work led him to the seedier side of work which he had an affinity for. Blackmail and other "hobbies" of the like got him on several agencies' radar, forcing him to flee Russia with everyone on his heels every step of the way. Bertha (Medic Class) aka Michaela Schneider. Formerly a German Medic with exceptional skills but her extreme aptitude for medicine was matched by her disregard of human life. Often finding joy in terrorizing her patients by meticulously describing all the pain they will endure in her care, which was evident by the fact she rarely used anesthesia. This obviously this led to her discharge were she unsuccessfully tried to reintegrate into society, but with her lack of empathy, ethics, and sentimentality made her obviously unfit to practice public medicine so she sold her skills to not only Umbrella but to others as a Torturer-For-Hire. Where she is very successful. Four Eyes (Field Scientist Class) aka Christine Yamata. She has been dedicated to science as a child which led to lack of social skills. She sees people as nothing more than subjects of her true love Virology.

The reason why I think the game was so hated was that it wasn't like the traditional resident evil games. Gameplay was vastly different from the other titles, story made little sense to the main series (it's not canon btw), and it didn't really have that horror vibe to it.

It was a crazy 4 player co-op game that had a game mode for player versus player. 8 people fighting with zombies attacking both sides was a great idea. The team with nice tech is the USS Umbrella Security Service. Their goal is remove all evidence of Umbrella being involved with raccoon city getting destroyed and kill all survivors. The other team is a U.S. government team Echo Squad that really tries to help civilians and fight the B.O.W.s along the way. Bio Organic Weapons. It's still available on Xbox One and PC. If you like couch co-op Resident Evil 6 & 5 both are two player co-op. Have fun the entire series is just epic tbh

I think there's something about the RE franchise that is unique in the zombie genre, and that you might be missing here. The reason why humans show a lack of empathy toward other humans (as per usual) is that this is not an apocalyptic scenario. Raccoon City was an isolated incident. The world is very much still intact and not overrun by zombies. Meaning that people dropping into this zone with a specific motivation, like the swat team, or the umbrella strike team, both of which you have seen on screen are much less likely to abandon their convictions/objectives for the greater good. Especially for the umbrella agents, because they knew from the start what they were getting themselves into.

Oh snaps! This game is insane. The story isn't good, however, it is interesting and a little bit fun to play when you're bored. I do know this was the first Resident Evil game you can move and shoot before RE6 came out. Also, the different skills the characters you play as was pretty cool as well. This game was about side events that happened in Raccoon City the night it was overrun with the T-Virus, the most pinnacle point in Resident Evil history and lore. You could play as the US Army elite team, sent in to rescue civilians, or Umbrella's expert assassins, sent in to eliminate witnesses and destroy any evidence of Umbrella Corps involvement in the outbreak. The game was, okay, not perfect but it was fun with friends amd it was cool walking around Raccoon City again with (at the time) the best console graphics so far on PS3.

You guys should check out Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. It's a classic arcade-style beat-em-up with beautifully animated pixel art, lots of references to the the series throughout, and you can play as not only the turtles, but also Master Splinter, April O'Neil, and Casey Jones! It even allows for up to 6-player co-op! It's kinda short and not too hard, but it's a huge love letter to the series, so I definitely recommend it.

So even though yes the Umbrella forces and the survivors of the RPD/special forces are the only living things left in the city as the zombie numbers rise, their goals are completely different. The RPD were trying to save the people as the city was falling apart. The special forces are a group that knows Umbrella is responsible for the outbreak and are trying to get the info off of Umbrella systems so they have the evidence. Think of them like some kind of Interpol unit. And the Umbrella forces are there to get the information and destroy any evidence of Umbrella's involvement. Problem is Umbrella also sees their own forces are expendable for the sake of keeping any intel on their involvement quiet. In fact these Umbrella guys were the ones that shot Berkin and forced him to inject himself with the GVirus, which turned him into the main monster of the campaign A part of the original Resident Evil 2 games. I had a load of fun with this game with my friends. It is its own little quirky game. I only wish that they had a civilian mode like something we saw in the Outbreak games where you're just playing regular people trying to get out of the city.

Honestly I think you hit the nail on the head. It was more of an intense action game set in Resident Evil which, if you compare it to other action games, it isn't that great. Plus the game wasn't very deep on the narrative side either. Even for an RE game. Not the worst game they made by far. I think that goes to Umbrella Corps. But it really was a lost for Capcom financially. Plot wise, in RE2 and 3 Umbrella kind of made multiple zombie viruses and there was an outbreak in Raccoon City. Throughout RE 2 and 3 they were trying to cover up their involvement in the incident and gather research data because they are an evil corporation that just needs to keep pumping out zombie viruses. So in this game they sent in a team of highly talented, and comically evil people that are 1 bad word from killing each other in to gather data and eliminate people who knew the truth. Honestly, I don't know how this is canon. I'm pretty sure it isn't, but it's clear this game doesn't take itself too seriously.

Game aside, this was one of the best trailers of its time. My main issue with this game was its massive anachronisms. Raccoon City was bloated enough with multiple spin offs all claiming "But heey, all these other people survived!", and then you have these two groups of characters invented at the height of the Call of Duty craze, claiming they were shooting it out in a city in 1998 while using weapons and equipment from the mid-2000s. All of this would have been solved if they just made this side story took place in any other new location, with mercenaries and US forces dealing with a new viral outbreak, but nope, back to Raccoon City it was.

RE ORC is "what if everyone was an asshole" The game had a ton of potential but the sales never hit expectations. The black dudes/dudettes are umbrella liquidation team Delta, the green are 6Echo; bad guys vs good guys. It was Capcom's attempt to cash in on the adversarial team game push that a lot of companies were making at the time, and basically the game simply had a lot of issues and matchmaking was a mess. People that didn't play RE games hated the third person setup and people that did play RE hated the "lack of atmosphere" and "spammy combat" aka standard third person multiplayer. The game basically needed another year to be amazing and Capcom HQ was not going o spend that kind of money. Condolences on your babies. Losing your besties is never easy.

It takes place during the events of resident evil 2 and 3 but it's non canon. 1 faction works for Umbrella (the guys in all black) they're tasked with eliminating survivors/witnesses and covering the tracks of their company and the other is a Spec-Ops unit sent in to investigate what happened. The game itself was not great it was a real buggy mess but the characters themselves are awesome. I'd give it a miss and play the RE2 and RE3 remakes instead.

The guys in Black is Delta team "Wolfpack". There an Umbrella Secret Service group of Mercernaries tasked to remove any evidence that might incriminate Umbrella to be responsible for the Outbreak and kill ANY witnesses still alive. Specs Ops unit Echo Six is the opposite. They were sent by the Goverment to help survivors and find out who is responsible for the Outbreak. You can play both sides and have their own stories but aren't canon to the RE story since you can actually kill key characters in the RE universe that survived Raccon city. Lupo the lady with the Blue mask is the leader of Delta Team and Dee-Ay the scarfed dude is the leader Echo Six.

Man I will say this everytime I see operation raccoon city I feel like this game has a a lot of potential the characters have cool design the ideas are good just need to be more worked on The characters you are playing are umbrella special forces delta team who trying to cover up raccoon city basically the bad guys

this game was fun, but i hardcore disagree that it was disliked cause it was "different" it was fun but it was short, super buggy, janky, and a half assed multiplayer mode shoved in when it should have just been a straight coop experience. and hot take the special forces were unnecessary to add and their whole story dlc could have just been more story for wolfpack being playing as umbrella special forces was the main draw. graphically it is not the most appeasing and the story is very uneventful and did not go as big with the concept (which is the shining jewel of the game) as it should have. but it is fun and i have a nostalgic love for it, if any resident evil game could use a remake or second chance its operation raccoon city. the essential rundown is the guys in the cool tech are umbrella security/special forces named wolfpack they are who you play as bit of a put in the bad guys shoes concept. their job is basically a typical burn op you go and destroy evidence that implicates umbrella in any way. this can range from just documents but also any witnesses as word also can't get out that wolfpack was even in the city. so they are killing cops because they can talk too much. they are four eyes, bertha, lupo, beltway, spectre, and vector (the cloaking dude).
