I really enjoyed both Revelations games but I feel like there's not a ton of content on either so I'm glad you are covering them! They really got the right balance of stupid fun action and intense horror. In both there were moments I fled in panic at boss encounters I was so freaked out. Like you noted, I think the ship was really a great atmospheric location and that main theme when you enter the main central area was epic. I look forward to your next video!

I did enjoy this game, the atmosphere on the first playthrough was good! i liked the sequel as well. with my gripe there being no online story mode coop! still disappointed about that!

I loved Jackass and Grinder lol. They grew on me. I do think they could have increased the quantity and quality of their levels. They could have had a boss fight too.

It really is, I absolutely LOVE Revelations. Revelations 2 was great too but I do prefer the first no with hindsight. This game saved Resident Evil after RE6. I think I said earlier it wad RE7 but really you're right it was Revelations. I must have this on like 4 different platforms lol, no 5. I forgot I have it on Switch too lol.

Revelations was such an ambitious 3DS game and I would love to see it get a remake. The Queen Zenobia could be terrifying in the RE Engine. Just ditch the chapters system and Keith/Quint sections. They're also doing a great job fleshing out the characters in the remakes, so it be fun to see what they do with Jessica. 😆

Honestly, Parker became one of my favourite characters in the entire series after playing through this game. I love his casual demeanour, his loyalty to his friends, and the scene where he sacrifices himself to ensure the survival of Jill and Chris still gets me to this day. This was my first RE game (with the exception of playing a few minutes of 4 at my friend’s house) and it got me hooked on the series. As you mentioned in the video, Jill’s story is definitely the best part of the game, but this title will always have a special place in my heart.

I enjoyed the exploration of the boats a lot. Very scary empty boats. This boat was much better than the one in re5 and re7 for sure. A remake with full interactivity and rolling objects and wind effects would really put it up top

It's an okay game saved by its side mode which was a joy to play. I played it back then on 3DS (with the second joystick add-on) so I don't remember much of it but I liked the "RPG" (using this word lightly) feel to the mercenary mode (I think it's called).

@@NedleyTV I think you mean the second joystick in the later revision (3DSXL or something), I meant a physical add-on that adds an actual second joystick. I think that the game had a more expensive version that came with it (I checked, it's called the "Circle Pad Pro"). Neat add-on, a shame that no other games used it (to my knowledge)

I have this game on my 3ds, I got it back in the day and I remember I was hugely impressed... never got too far though, I really hated the controls. BUt it looked incredible, I loved what I was able to play, I wished it was available on another platform... and so I bought it on pc later XD You know, this is a good game but... maybe the problem is that I was old but I think this wasn't a return to form for Resident Evil. It felt very arcade, a lot of action, sure, but it wasn't that unrelenting horror experience... You can argue that the true resident evil died with RE4, but RE4 was amazing so most of us didn't care. RE5 was worse in every way, but it was still fun so a lot of people kept looking away from the problem... RE6 kind of forced people to take a step back and think about their lives. Revelations didn't truly went back to the true resident evil experience. It actually tried to do what RE6 did but more carefully, with less... dumb dialogues and without having an explotion every two minutes of gameplay. But deep down I always knew it wasn't so different from RE6, for me that's not so bad: I like RE6, even if I recognize it's an extremely dumb game. In that time, Revelations felt like... a very small light in a very dark night. We weren't sure if it was real, were too affected by previous disasters and Revelations felt cheap. It didn't feel premium at all. Resident evil's corpse gripping to gaming desperately. But it was hope. It wasn't until RE7 that Resident Evil truly returned to form. It was like waking up from a very long sleep.

How does revelations 1 hold up compared to revelations 2? I have the latter and am enjoying it. Is the story of revelations 1 good enough to hold your attention? Is there enough survival horror elements? I am in the middle of revelations 2 so no spoilers for both games please Just want to know if revelations 1 is worth getting despite it being a handheld game originally. I heard the story was more goofy.

It is a bit goofy at times and it does have some of that hand held tropes in it but honestly, it’s a good time. It’s always on sale too for super cheap so just scoop it when it’s like 5-10 bucks

@@NedleyTV thanks for taking the time to reply. It's not the money anymore because it's 5$ on Playstation store. It's the time because we don't have enough time to play most games therefore I am very picky. As of now, I am enjoying revelations 2 (I played the original re2/re3/re4 and haven't finished 7) so I am a fan. I get differing opinions, some say rev1 is better and vice versa. I'm more interested in the horror/story/gameplay. If revelations 1 is as good as 2, then I'll get it. It's at least as good as revelations 2?

Might be a bit biased but i think the game is great. Having all these different characters and changes of locations really managed to keep me engaged into the plot while also giving us a nice switch of horror and action segments which were not interrupted by each other. I also really enjoyed the episodic nature with it feeling like i was binging a horror and mystery thriller type show. Since i am not an OG fan in fact i didn't really enjoy 0 so far as the camera just isn't for me and haven't played that many games of the series yet (only the revelations duology, a bit of 7 and a bit of 0) i might be biased as said. I'd still give this game an 8/10

Honestly RE Rev 1 is my favorite in the series It is the reason i'm a fan This is my most played 3DS game. I love this game so much. I also love the final boss

Ok I finally got revelations 1. Wow. I was genuinely surprised at how much better some aspects of it are than part 2. I like the way it links the stories together and does not require you to buy the chapters separately. I like the interior of the ships a lot. I think the graphics are overall much better then rev 2. I didn't expect that. I do NOT like the appearance of the charecters. They don't look as good as res ev 5 or res ev 6 at all. But the actual detail is great. The atmosphere of the ship is shockingly similar to the houses in 1 and zero. Very creepy. Scary. The controls are limited. You get only green herbs. Theres no duck or evade button. But you get used to it. It's just much more basic. More like re5 and nothing like re6. In fact. Basically for anyone who hates 6 .... if you treat revelations 1 and 2 as part 6 you will be very happy. Rev 1 and 2 is SO MUCH BETTER then re6 !!! It just take a bit to adjust to the controls which are kind of slick and limited. Once you get into exploring the ship and using the scanner device to search for clues you are completely into it. Re4 re5 rev1 and rev2 are all a great sequence of games with re4 being the clear best but re5 rev1 and rev2 all being fairly equal in playability and immersion. I do think that the boss's and monsters in rev1 are the best. I feel like rev2 took a step back on graphics for some reason. Rev 2 was all about open environments and seems to have less charecter details as a result? Overall rev1 is relaxing and scary / creepy. Haunted boat is well designed. The story has some ridiculous things happen like when they realize they are on the wrong boat but the interior is EXACTLY THE SAME as the right boat!! But the story is mysterious enough to keep you focused. If you like re5 and re1 I would recommend rev1.

I thought Revelations was a great entry to the franchise and loved the Weapon Mod upgrades. I agree with you about Quint and Jack Ass and felt that we could easily remove both of them from the story and make the game better

Love rerev2 . Still didn't play part 1. But I just might go ahead and do that. I haven't beem attracted to the monster designs in the clips I see but considering how good part 2 is and how bad re6 is I think the only way I can follow up re5 which I just finished is to get into ReRev1.

what revelations did right was modernize Jill they did what the RE3 remake tried but failed to do failures were jackass and making Chris not as important in the game as Chris u couldn't upgrade weapons access storage boxes. RE revelations was just short of perfection not to mention weapon limitations and over saling weapons that needed parts to be as powerful as name sake

I actually have this game on my Nintendo switch oled and it looks amazing. Probably one of the better looking games on the console. I also played the ps4 version when it came out originally and the switch version looks way better. The screen size is perfect for this game and the oled really makes the colors pop. If you haven’t played this game yet or you’re looking to replay and have a switch oled I would definitely give it a shot.

The opinion part what the entire review was a joke. Because that is your opinion. I mention in the video that these side modes like mercs and raid mode have never been my thing but I can recognize that people enjoy those. It is obvious raid mode is important to you and that’s totally cool and I respect it. However what I discuss in every one of my videos is gameplays, mechanics, story and world setting. This video is meant to be a “review” but a retrospective on how I felt about the game to spark a discussion, not say this game good or bad difitavly. I could have brought up raid mode and it would hav been completly indifferent which in that case, is there a point in speaking on it. Again. I see why you would question but to say the entire video is a joke is a bit hyperbolic.
