In the Aderson novel it says that Wesker ultimately betrays the forces gathered at the White House, destroying it and killing everyone there except Alice and himself. When Alice awakens, the White House is in ruins surrounded by the ruins of Washington, DC. You can read it in the internet. It's like an online book. Director Aderson wrote it. It explains there all the things happened in the resident evil movie that they didn't show in the movie from the beginning, just like what happened to Angie the young girl in resident evil 2: Apocalypse and other movies. Etc etc

I haven't seen the movie, but since these recaps don't usually tell every single detail, maybe the location was revealed in the movie & if she was able to get there in time, she could disperse the cure near there, therefore, eliminating the immediate threat at that place, at least. Then the wind could carry it all over to other places.

They were ALL pretty bad, imo. 🤣 When the first RE movie released, I was so pissed off that I actually paid to watch it in a theater, to only an hour in, realize that it all was basically a soft-core exploitation slasher/horror starring the director's barely clothed wife. I was expecting Chris Redfield and Leon... what I got was a skinny chick who looked like she never stepped out in the sun a day in her life, pretending to be an OP action-star easily brutalizing videogame enemies... mostly naked thru much of it. Yes, the laser hallway thing was kind of rad for its time - so much so, they copied it in Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (frame-by-frame in that one). But I never liked any of these films, and God knows I gave them all a chance. If I had to name one of them as the best, it would be the second one.... but they are all REALLY disrespectful to the source material. Ironically, I am also a life-long fan of 'so bad they are good' horror films. So, in an alternate universe I would have LOVED these films, as they have everything I tend to like in a cheesy bad film. Unfortunately, I cannot separate that love of truly awful films, from my hardcore Resident Evil fandom. I REALLY wish I could though, as I know I've watched every one of these films' multiple times... always trying to appreciate them... but ALWAYS just being more offended than entertained. Yes, Milla Jovovich turned out to be an actually pretty decent action star in the following years... and yes, the set-pieces got way better... the budgets ballooned... they added a lot of content from the games to appease people like me.... but the films still sucked. If anything, they got worse as their budgets and scopes become more and more absurd. I am still convinced to this day; that the whole series was a giant expensive vanity project for the director, to be able to watch his wife blow stuff up with big guns. Not unlike what the Fast & Furious films have become for Vin Diesel. lol. 👍
