It's even sadder when you realise something obvious. Eva, Miranda's baby daughter, died during the 1918 Spanish Flu. Miranda found the Mold in a cave when she wanted to commit suicide some time after. This means that Eva was nowhere near the mold when she died. And thus, she never got absorbed by it. In short, Miranda had been wasting her time.

The main plot is not perfect by any means but Alcina Dimitrescu was more expressive than anyone(dynamics of all sorts with others, sense of humor, likes and dislikes and sheer stage presence) yet sadly eliminated from the story far too early. Miranda is a lesser character in comparison to most everyone and that is why main plot is so meh as a whole(like, the village survivors that took shelter had more personality) as she’s the one to culminate it.

Well, in the Ethan playthrough you were supposedly fighting DUKE, but got scrapped in the final game. CAPCOM probably wanted us to know what would the fight or segment will be and they showed that in the DLC.

Ethan never managed to get rid of Eveline inside that plane since he never went deeper than being a construct in the real world. Sure, he destroyed her physical body which was already decaying and getting out of control, but she still was inside the collective consciousness that was revealed at the end of RE 8. But he didn't kill her completely. He also probably couldn't anway since he didn't have a high enough affinity with the mold. Now after Rose grew up and managed to dive into that consciousness where it is dangerous for her, Rose managed to get rid of both Evelin and Miranda with the help of her father's consciousness which did develop some control over the mold over the years. It all comes down to him transferring the knowledge and teaching Rose everything he knew. From how to control the mold powers to handling weaponry.

I'm guessing you meant Rosemary Winter? In that case, unlike Sherry, Rose was born with her virus due to her father being a mold and her mother being infected before Ethan cured her. Rose is much stronger and has more potential, Sherry only can heal herself, she cant get any powerfull, shes not infected anymore while Rose has control of the mold and does keep getting powerful because she is the virus, she was born with it.

If you mean Rose, then yes. She is way more powerful than Sherry. Rose was born with with her powers due to Ethan being a mold mutant and Mia still being infected by the mold virus that is dormant in her system. She is literally the Mold itself in human form. Where as Sherry gained hers when she was infected by her father when he was the "G" mutant in G2 form and was later cured by Claire Redfield. No... it's Ethan. He's still walking by her side, traveling with her. That's the imagery coming full circle, but the ending now (with what see in the DLC) isn't just saying she knows she's like her dad. She's saying she knows her dad is with her, and she now truly knows she's strong like he is. But even knowing that, Ethan will stay by her side, because that's his promise. Obviously he's blacked out because he's not in their world. It's just a little wrap up piece for their storyline.
