@@boleroako8589 honestly when I first watch it, I was surprised when Claire comes to the town and stays in on of the house which she finds herself being attack by one the infected people was really good, and I was so excited whats gonna happen next, but after she goes the police station, then that's where my excitement died and then I started to feel disappointed, it's like they could of go in a more suspenseful slow pace action horror thriller film but instead they just smashe so many ideas into this diabolical of a film. I loved the beginning and I was hoping it was going more of a slow pace suspenseful filmed but decided to go more action pack with horrible CGI. And do not get me started with Leon, they brutalized him alot, it's like the directors to turd of shit for the franchise just like amber head did to JD bed, so effing disappointing that this is the film we get for RE2. Such a crash grabbed film, the beginning gave me so much excited and they ruin it

I liked the movie to, i didn't like some of the changes it made but that is to be expected when adapting something; not just video games but that goes for ALL ADAPTATIONS. But i do agree with most fans that cramming the story of two games into one movie was not really a good move, it made the movie feel rushed at certain parts. However, it is a shame to see so many useless nitpicks about it from the fanbase. For years many fans cried and complained about the other RE film series and how they wanted a movie that actually adapts the games story and characters. This movie comes along and fans still complain endlessly, granted the movie is not perfect but it is a THOUSAND times better than the previous live action movies (1 and 2 were pretty decent though, the rest of them were horrible)

I got into resident evil at the age of 12 and my first experience of it was Revelations 5 and 6 on PS4. My parents hated that I liked it (and other games that read Mature 17+) and I'm now 15. I still love videogames horrors and resident evil. And of course I know all the lore and stuff and I've read S.D. Perry's Umbrella Conspiracy and Caliban Cove. I am getting the Xbox series X, Assassins creed origins gold edition and resident evil 7 gold edition. I've watched all the games on youtube, read 2 books, written a book at age 12, (Retribution, lost to the world, and was over 1,200 pages.) Plus I knew slot of cuss words by then and I'm revising it right now, and I've seen all the movies but this one and the final chapter. (Coincident ally my father is watching the movie right now!) I'm gonna do a bunch of editing and don't expect it until 2027. I'm not a great writer so I'm gonna improve on it. And after a year has passed I'm editing it. The novel is called Resident Evil: Retribution - Umbrella Rises Remastered The original was on iBooks store in 2019 and was taken down due to the fact I was 12. Also, that was the longest work ever and anyone who's got it on there Apple computers be lucky its on your Macs still!

Things i liked about this movie: They got the fact that the lickers were the children from the orphanage. the rpd and spenser mansion looked like they do in the remakes. I loved the different keys with the playing cards at the top of them. The lisa trevor name drop at the start was creepy and was cool. But they butchered her execution overall, even tho i like that they kept her wearing her mothers skin. The references like moon light sonata and the zombie turning round were cool. Claire was cast well. Chris looks like he does in re1. But he acts like an idiot and seems like pretty average cop. Everything else was pretty bad tbh.

just rewatched this today and honestly, it wasn’t too bad especially since it is following the source material BUT, I feel like they should’ve made it either a series or three separate movies. They’ve squeezed everything so much into a 2 hour movie that some key scenes or characters were removed e.g Marvin, Rebecca, etc… The casting for Leon and Jill bothered me a bit since they were far from what the canon characters looked like. If anything, the person casted as Leon should’ve been Carlos instead furthermore, Jill’s actress just didn’t fit her vibe at all. She seemed far too fierce compared to the in-game Jill. That aside, they could’ve gotten away with the casting if they hadn’t made Leon so incompetent in the movie. He’s supposed to be cool and witty not whatever disaster that was. Which brings me back to the importance of the removal of Marvin and leaving Leon no room for a big character development. He did manage to kill that zombie in the prison cell and kinda got a grasp of the situation but like, he’s supposed to do more than that. But it could just be me. Also, where did that person from the orphanage come from? How come it wasn’t Leon/Claire that killed the Licker? Where did Mr.X go? Where did Nemesis go? Overall the animation, CGI, props, and make up was pretty good. Kinda disappointed that they managed to butcher a handful of characters but it was kinda interesting.

its a very different movie from Alice movies and it's not perfect but it felt way more authentic and closer to the game to me, so many nods to original game and atmosphere was spot on, exactly how I would imagine the game looks on film! famous game locations and scenes were recreated so faithfully. while original movies had cliche hollywood blockbuster feel this one has real horror feel. and cool cinematography and editing. everyone crying about effects are just spoiled modern audience who cares more about CGI than the content. to me this is instant cult classic. the only thing I was disappointed with was Leon's character

Agreed. I always used to/do still think the same way but after watching multiple script writers, on youtube, explain why game adaptations are so hard I kind of understand why. Adapting a book is somewhat easy. It's a pre made script that needs to be edited. The author gives the reader/script writer all he needs to adapt it. With a game you not only have to edit the 'script' but fill in the HUGE sections that have no dialogue (Gameplay) and also the 'connection' the viewer loses by not controlling the characters which greatly hurts the story telling and pacing of a movie. This makes the writer have to 'add' characters or change back stories slightly to help move the story along. For E.g look at the original Tomb Raider. Apart from the character Lara croft and the butler and one other character (i think) it has little to nothing to do with the original game. Same with the original Resident Evil movie. Apart from Umbrella, the facility and Zombies it's nothing like the original.... Although, that was more due to laziness than difficulty adapting it (IMO) As games have become mini movies (MGS, Silent hill etc) it's become slightly easier but the problem of keeping to the source material while trying to connect with the audience seems to be almost impossible. Sorry to ramble on lol Just find it fascinating the idea of adapting a VG and the barriers you'd face.

Saw this movie last night and think this is a great movie. I know many people will find it to be a disappointment as it may be " rushed " because it has some parts of its story from the game missing. But I'm new to the resident evil games and grew watching Milla Jovovich's take on resident evil. So as a new comer of the resident evil universe, i thought the movie was great. Would highly recommend it to anyone else who is new to this universe as well. It's got everything you want. Especially the zombies which is what makes the movie so great for me.
