Show this to all of your friends. It will change at least one of their lives. “The Velvet Underground’s first record only sold 30,000 copies, but everyone who bought it went out and started a band.”

The program was 'Night Music' but to this day I still believe that the Residents segments was transmitted from another dimension.

They are from Another Dimension. I can't talk about where though . but your onto the right track. Read into the bible where it speaks about the watchers. This is why they always wear eyeball costumes. They were sent from god to watch over humanity and they went astray and had sex with human women. That's what this song is about. How he killed dude cuz he liked the Woman too. But now they are Fallen Angels. Demons if You will.

The video can't do justice to the live event. This tour was "The History of American Music in 3 EZ Peices" and had three acts: "Lonesome Prarie", "Black Barry", and "The King and Eye" (from memory so I could be off a bit). It remains one of the most powerful live performances I've seen of any kind. 1989 seems about right for the tour. I saw them in Chicago at the Steppenwolf Theater. I believe there was a DVD of the show, but I can't find it online. Really worth hunting down.

After this, people probably started thinking there was more than just four Residents.

They also did a “background performance” for Conway Twitty rendition of “When You’re Cool” at the end of this episode. Probably my 2nd favorite episode of Night Music after the surprise performance of Warren Zevon. Great show, and Consider this the last of classic The Residents albums/performance
