What?? lol The song lyrics have basically nothing to say about being a janitor or what it's about, she simply says 'I'm a janitor, oh my genitals" because she met this janitor at her school who had a funny sounding voice, and when he said "I'm a janitor." it sounded like "Oh my genitals."

My limited exposure to alt punk and new wave at this time would have been musical guests on Fridays, S.C.T.V. , Showtime (which would show a couple music videos between movies) , and some video show that was shown on our local TV channel, was not MTV, but never remember the name of the show. Just to explain that this is about: the guitarist wrote a song about science and he said it was full of bad science word play: "everything is irrelative" "man the manipulator". Separately, a man told Su he was a janitor and she heard "genitals" and put it together as a chorus. Guitarist liked the janitor line a lot because it broke up his weak world play with something much more.
