Photojournalist Benjamin Yazza captures a community coming together at the 100th Intertribal Ceremonial in Gallup. After a horrifying incident that left more than a dozen people injured, strength and resilience prevailed at the historic celebration of indigenous culture.

How terrible that happened. I hope no one was hurt. How wonderful that man was, a true warrior protecting his people. I hope this doesn't discourage everyone. I do love to watch the ceremonies and parade. In one I saw the Apache Crown Dancers which o just love to watch them. Many hugs and hearts to everyone. Be careful and stay safe. May God the Creater protect everyone of you. You are precious.

I blame the City of Gallup and the Police Dept for failing to keep everyone safe. They have too many DWIs, Murders, and Street Racings in Gallup. Everyday the local radio stations announce donations for the deceased and there are 15-20 people per day. Gallup is not a safe town to be in.
