Don"t get me wrong i respect the Mi kmaq nation, in fact i have Mi kmaq blood going back to my gg grandmother, But the Mi kmaq was not Newfoundlands the orginal natives, they came cross from Nova Scotia, the orginal natives were the Beothuk, it was beieved to be around 800 souls here when the first europeans landed on Newfoundand shores & by the 1820s they were killed off or starved because they were forced inland by settlers & also the Mi kmaq were not friendly with them, & ii know it was the Beothuk that England put the bounty on them, with the purchase of their scalps, so really the Mi kmaq were settlers to newfoundland same has the Europeans, i added this if history is to be told let history be known no matter how ugly or bad it is, it must be told in full
