Excellent tour, I just spent 15 nights coming from Singapore, first time on a new ship, had open mind and was not disappointed, the staff excellent, food and entertainment best I have ever experienced in 40 years of cruising the Manor and Red Room perfect for entertainment, totally different feel without children. The facilities first class Lifts excellent , relaxed atmosphere everywhere you went and the games room a real hit. The Prawns ( Shrimp ) at the Dock and Pizza sensational . The Wake was my favorite all dining venues superb. Having an overnight stay in Sydney on our return a real highlight, sitting in spa at 11pm looking at Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House excellent, and as you expressed in previous video, brilliant media strategy and promotion for our entry to Sydney. Australian music as we arrived in Sydney was quite emotional. And to top it off met and spoke to Sir Richard Branson cannot wait to go on my next Virgin cruise.

It all looked amazing. Will be on this ship towards the end of June. The food....your video made me hungry to try everything I saw and this was at 8:15 in the morning. I just hope the food tastes as amazing as it looks. Thoroughly excited for this. Thank you!

We were on the ship in November from Dubai to Singapore, loved the ship, food etc not so much Mumbai 😖😭😫, cruise terminal half built so dust + cables + scaffolding everywhere and passengers passports were checked 6-7 times so it took about 2-3 hours to get through customs and Mumbai wasn’t worth seeing

Hi. We are book to go February, Can you tell me if we have to prebook all the Restaurant before we cruise or can we roll up on the day. Also is the crrency on board AU$
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy11 ай бұрын
Your best bet is to pre book - while you can do walk ups or book onboard, pickings can be slim. USD for all onboard expenses.

Hi Adrian, great video. Is alcohol included in my cabin price
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy11 ай бұрын
Thanks Craig. Just basic beverages (soft drinks, soda water, still water, non-pressed juices, filter coffee and basic tea). Alcohol, barista coffee and fresh juice is all at cost. No drinks packages available, instead VV offers a bar tab in $300USD increments which provides $350USD value. Non-refundable though, and can only be purchased before the cruise.

Thanks Adrian for another comprehensive & informative walkthrough. It doesn't really look my cup of tea, with the furniture looking as though Ikea made a killing.

Haha some of the furniture is definitely form over function… in places, it’s really not very comfortable.

Do Virgin Cruises have onboard activities eg. Trivia?
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy11 ай бұрын
They do, they have trivia, scavenger hunts, speed puzzles and other things like that throughout the day and evening

Love the food, drink and entertainment venues (food court with table service so much fresher and more hygienic than a ‘norovirus laden’ tepid buffet) and the overall quality looks superb. Some amazing state of the art design features in the public areas too (and on other videos I’ve seen how lovely the cabins are). A huge plus for me is that they don’t do drinks packages which must cut down greatly on the number of people, staggering around slaughtered, trying to get their ‘moneys worth.’ BUT I think the ship really appears to lack a large comfortable lounge space where the focus isn’t on eating and you can curl up with a book. The upper decks quite frankly look a mess with far too much space taken up by sports courts, not very practical huge circular loungers (and the cabanas make the area look enclosed and claustrophobic and are again, imo, wasted space). I’m wondering how crammed the limited sunbathing areas would be on warm sea days. Remove all the designer junk and replace it with an additional large proper swimming pool with loungers and open deck and it would be a far more enticing cruise experience.

I don’t care about the looks I care about the functionality and it ticks all my boxes… no kids tick, not an American owned cruise line tick, no self serve pig troughs tick, more inclusions tick. Very much looking forward to losing my Virginity 😂👍

Even with your very extensive ship tour, it still does not push all my buttons. (Great job by the way.) I read your replies to some comments saying that the ship does not photograph well and it looks more soulful in person. Unfortunately, not everybody can get on board to have a look before making a booking. Publicity shots are what attract or not attract.
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy11 ай бұрын
Thanks Les! Glad you enjoyed the tour. I understand - it’s just a weird fact that it looks different in person. I think the cooler tones and colours make it look clinical in images, but it’s not so harsh in person. Working on the cruise review now.
@edvaira689111 ай бұрын
Oof! This looks like a cramped, small, cheap-looking ship…There was So little of this that looked inviting or warm or comfortable…the decor was very similar to a cheap, budget suburban Hotel lobby
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy11 ай бұрын
I thought the same when I first saw photos and other videos, but it doesn’t feel that way onboard. It’s hard to describe exactly, but there’s a richness in the materials and it’s a lot nicer in the flesh. The stairwells though do have a very clinical appearance and I don’t much care for the outdoor seating behind The Galley - it looks a little prison yard.

@lifeiscruisey191211 ай бұрын
I thought the same thing until we boarded and were blown away by how amazing it was. There's parts of the ship that are purposely designed to be minimalistic so you can relax and connect with the ocean and then there's spaces that rival some 5 star boutiques. This is definitely the first ship in Australia that let's you really enjoy cruising without the need to hype up their resort facilities
@jonathanfgh111 ай бұрын
There are problems with the interior design, no art pieces in the stairs and lift foyers. Many spaces feel very enclosed with no external views. The hallways feel like a Westfield shopping centre ! It looks like the designers had to keep to a tight budget & some of the signage looks cheap. A missed opportunity I'm afraid ..... 😐
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy11 ай бұрын
I think people will either love it or hate it. The overwhelming consensus after the maiden cruise is that people love it. I’m probably the exception… somewhere in the middle. Working on the cruise review now.

The ship looks very clinical and stark. It doesn't make me wanna book a cruise. It lacks luster and feels lifeless. Also lost me at no traditional buffett!!!

Yeah, nah. Not a fan. Design looks cold and not inviting, metal and plastic furniture looks uncomfortable, reminds me of a college dorm or hospital building.

I was going to say it looks more like a Marriott Courtyard…but, yeah, NOT an appealing looking ship AT ALL…
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy11 ай бұрын
Some of the furniture is a bit bleak, the outdoor Galley section is unappealing. The rest of it though, personally I find it looks nicer in person. I had seen photos and previous videos and thought it looked very cold but in the flesh, it’s a lot more tactile and feels plush.
