It’s so beautiful .Have you used 2:1 resin or 3:1 resin?

I haven’t yet but I have some deep pour resin that’s 2:1 that I want to try soon. Have you tried it? Any thoughts?

hello I have a question I want to apply epoxy resin on the big mirror. Is it possible that the epoxy resin will separate from the mirror after a while? Does it need to be primed before starting work on the mirror surface?
@joyful2 жыл бұрын
thanks for sharing this; the mirror was lovely 💚. i'm a new resin artist and still experimenting. how did you get the resin to not sink through the frame and leak out the back? i recently tried a picture frame and mirror and both leaked terribly. though, i did end up with a nice result - just a lot of wasted resin and details moved around. i've tried hot glue to seal the frame and painting tape at the back, and neither technique prevented leaks.
@t3sslark2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thank you for the compliment. I’m sorry to hear about your pieces but glad you liked the overall result. If you’re pouring resin on something that can be sanded down like a wood panel I’d suggest doing that if you get leaks. Unfortunately sometimes the pattern does change a bit and shift around but I think that’s just part of working with this medium. I’d suggest pouring less resin to start so there is less waste and keep taping / gluing your pieces. I wish I had more suggestions but just keep playing around

Thank you so much for the tutorial.. ❤ May I use 2:1 or 3:1 epoxy resin for mirror art?

@@t3sslark ohh thank you so much for reply Actually I got order for Resin art on Mirror.. I had checked on KZbin short where they had shown, they used UV resin and it turned out beautiful as well.. Have you ever tried UV resin on mirror?
@t3sslark Жыл бұрын
@@ravinaraval8425 not on a mirror but that could be nice as it cures so quickly the turn around time would be much faster. You’d need to make sure you have a UV light large enough for your project tho!

Blue because I think you didn't shake the paint & you got the blue pigment that makes up the green?
@t3sslark2 жыл бұрын
It’s possible!! I’ll make sure to shake it up really well before I use it next time.
@knikolai712 жыл бұрын
My experience with the green Pinata inks is that they almost always turn a blue or teal color. Your are almost better mixing blue and yellow together or using a different brand of alcohol ink for the green shades.

I have a question, I want to try taking a mirror, breaking it into large pieces, then filling in the cracked spaces with resin sort of like those tables that are wood/resin filled. Do you think that would be possible to do?
@t3sslark2 жыл бұрын
Hey! So I’ve been thinking about this question a lot (I love the idea) and unfortunately I think the simple answer is: it would be extremely hard to do. You’d have to make sure the mirror pieces are perfectly level and then just pour the resin into the cracks / empty space. The problem would be that if you have any spill over you can’t really wipe it down or the mirror won’t be reflective. One of the reasons why that sort of thing works with wooden tables is bc the surface can be sanded down after the resin cures and then top coated again so you see all that lovely wood grain but you can’t sand a mirror. I think if I were to try to do that project I’d keep the mirror whole and then just pour thin lines of resin over the surface to give it a similar aesthetic if that makes sense? But look around for more tutorials here on KZbin! Someone else may have a better idea for you. 💘

This is beautiful! How long do you have to wait before putting the clear resin coat the the end?
@t3sslark2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! I needed to wait about 24 hours after each layer to make sure it was fully cured before moving on 🥰 so about a day for the first layer, a day for the second, after that dried I added my paint pen and then finally after that I did the clear top coat
@kidshomework83302 жыл бұрын
@@t3sslark thank you so much for answering my question so promptly. I appreciate it a lot.
@kidshomework83302 жыл бұрын
Do you think after 24 hours we can add some laser cut metallic sheet letters or something like that or can we add it right away? Just wondering if resin is thin enough that it won’t go over it, muffling the edges.
@t3sslark2 жыл бұрын
@@kidshomework8330 that I’m not positive about. I’d recommend experimenting on something small. You may be able to place the letters in the wet resin to get a good seal but it also may sort of ooze over the edges. You may want to wait, add the letters, and then top coat. I’d play around a bit

alcohol inks often color shift in resin, it's pretty unpredictable which colors will color shift and most alcohol inks are not lightfast meaning they will fade super quick when exposed to UV.. because of that i really wouldnt use alcohol inks in resin. your piece looks gorgeous though!
