That is a very convincing look. Pro painter tip. When using cheap brushes, brush a piece of clean coarse sandpaper first. All hairs that would end up in your paint job will be pulled out by the sandpaper.

Are you able to thin the metal paint and if so what do you recommend?

Why didn't you just prime the silicone and pour resin?
