Resist Ink Blending Over Embossed Stamping

Hello there! Today's blog post is part of a blog hop celebrating Altenew's 4th Anniversary! I'm so honored and happy to be playing along. :)
I chose to use one of my favorite Altenew stamp sets called Halftone Stars. I created a card using this stamp set a while back and have been wanting to create with it again. I stamped the stars in Versamark ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I ink blended three colors of Versafine Clair pigment ink over the top of the embossing: Charming Pink, Monarch, and Blue Belle. The slick surface of the embossed stars resisted the pigment ink leaving the star shapes behind.
I finished off the card by stamping the "Eat, Sleep, Craft, Repeat" greeting from Altenew's Crafty Life stamp set. I also added some white dimensional dots using Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White.

Kristina, I love EVERYTHING you do!!! I’m still watching and buying before I start! Lol I have a request, I mentioned it to Julia A.could all of you beautiful ladies maybe do more coloring little people and animals with tombows and zigs? Julia did something today with Stabilo pens and it was great! I’ve spent so much $$ getting together everything I need...inks, watercolor, brushes, zigs paper stamps and stencils that I just can’t bring myself to buy Copics yet? This is so pretty Kristina, those Versafine Clair inks look so vibrant and beautiful. I thought you were going to use an alcohol swab to wipe it up. LOL (I wonder if that would work on those mats or would that be too harsh???)

What a beautiful card 😊 thanks for sharing it. Sorry for bothering you but I have a question and may be you can help me, I have bought both the 80lb and 110lb Neenah card stock that you usually use for card bases but I’m having issues when I’m scoring the card stock the paper is tearing when I fold it. I’m using a Martha Stewart platform and the bone folder that it is coming with it, I have already ordered a Teflon bone folder from SSS last month and I’m waiting for that order to arrive in Melbourne hoping that could help but I don’t know what I’m doing wrong as I can see that you don’t have that problem. It is hard to source that cardstock in australia and buying online I have to pay extra for the shipping due to the weight, hence I cried each time that I have to throw away a sheet because it is looking ugly with the tearing or wearing paper at the fold or crease 😢 thanking you in advance Connie

Hmm... Yes, it might be the bone folder. The Teflon bone folder you're waiting for might solve the problem. Also, make sure that you're bending the cardstock in the right direction. The bump that scoring creates should be on the inside of the card.

What if you sprayed the stampcleaner on an inked background? Would that destroy the paper or maybe give a cool effect? Or would it just have the same effect as alcohol on an alcohol inked background?

The stamp cleaner feels very oily. I imagine it would ruin the cardstock.
