If only they would publish tables where this info could be looked up at need instead of giving hypothetical materials and resistivities to students to figure out.

If resistivity is constant than in the formula rho=(ohm×m2)÷m with any good conductor of material,if we change the length or the cross section area the resistivity is changing
@MRSENSATIONAL198 ай бұрын
Residents changes with the change in temperature,so if the temperature is constant then the resistivity of a material becomes constant too

Hello! Thanks for this video ❤️ I wanted to ask a question regarding resistivity. In my textbook it is mentioned that resistivity depends on temperature. However, you have mentioned that resistivity is an intrinsic property and does not depend on the material's geometry. So, why is resistivity being affected by Temperature ?(and also can you explain the term 'geometric property’).
@shadilkt4103 Жыл бұрын
Because as temperature increases the collision time b/w free electrons decreases ( we call it as relaxation time). Since resistivity is inversely proportional to relaxation time. When relaxation time descreases resistivity increases. And also the geometric property means the properties that are dependent of geometric dimensions ( like length, area of cross section )
@Shinchan_044Ай бұрын
I have a doubt Why did resistivity does not changes because it is the measure of the resistance if the resistance changes why the resistivity do not changes ???😢 Plzzzzzz clear it

I laugh when i see people saying youtube videos are better than attending a college...you guys need to consider some factors: on youtube, you have better environment, you came to youtube when u needed the lesson most, u also have a better attention bcos now it seems nibody is forcing you to study compared to when you feel lazy to get out of bed 8:00 am..... So now its like you are learning at your own pace...but without school You can never know you need this knowledge .... You are only here because you attended a college ... Bye

I just have one question - why does the resistivity not change? (at the end)
@vt.physics3 жыл бұрын
At both ends of the material? The resistivity is a property of the material... regardless of the dimensions.
