I havw a doubt sir,Arent potential difference and current directly proportional? So in series circuit if potential is changing across 2 resistors, shouldnt the current also change?
@ilisha_patel Жыл бұрын
I think it's because in series resistors, the first resistor gets full potential applied, but a voltage drop occurs at the first resistor and the second resistor gets the dropped voltage applied across the 2nd resistor terminals, which causes a voltage division.

08:37 your statement need to be corrected. Because sereies circuit current will be same and voltge only divided. So, sereies combination overall resistance increases, Same Current through Each Bulb and voltage in the circuit divided in to each bulb. Why series combination bulb glow dim? In a series combination of bulbs, the bulbs glow dim due to the following reasons: Same Current through Each Bulb: In a series circuit, the same current flows through all the components. If there are multiple bulbs in series, they share the total current, which can result in a lower current passing through each bulb compared to a single bulb circuit. Voltage Distribution: The total voltage from the power supply is divided among all the bulbs in the series. Each bulb receives only a fraction of the total voltage, which can lead to a reduction in brightness. The voltage drop across each bulb is determined by its resistance, leading to less voltage for each one. Increased Total Resistance: Adding more bulbs in series increases the total resistance of the circuit. According to Ohm’s Law (V = IR), for a fixed voltage, an increase in resistance will decrease the overall current. Lower current means less power (and therefore less brightness) for each bulb.
