Great catch on the bizarre ganging behaviour. I've also found that even putting an eq before Reso and dialing in a ridiculous resonance at say 175 Hz on spoken word, I can't make Reso highlight anything below around 2k when calculating which makes it far less useful. This is in 1.0.4. Btw and FYI, that pseudo tv effect is really hard on the eyes.

You know, I hate to cast aspersions upon indie developers, but I don't consider this plugin to be a finished product. It's just not great in its current form.

Reso made sense to me as a just use and forget plugin on individual tracks, the default targets are often good enough to move onto the next thing. Do you know any alternatives to Bassroom other than treating my room? lol
@palebluedotstudios2 жыл бұрын
If RESO t sense to you, then I think you'll like it even more after the update, because you can hear the difference more easily now. In terms of alternatives to Bassroom, I'd check out Izotope Spectral Balance (it'll show you how close your low end is to other mixes), or try out EZMix 2 from Toontrack. I usually use Metric AB to compare my mix to a reference, plus I can overlay the spectrum displays to see where I'm going wrong. Hope that helps!

I’m about to buy this or DSEQ3 what’s your thoughts Mr Dot based on whatever change has been done?
@palebluedotstudios2 жыл бұрын
I would go for DSEQ myself, because it has such a rich feature set and is as good as soothe2. However, you should definitely try out the RESO demo and see if it fits your needs. If you need something to quickly give you some resonant points to focus on, this could be right for you. And it's only $59. I am still seeing some buggy behaviour with RESO, but the devs are very responsive.

@@palebluedotstudios I tried the demo after your first video so it won’t let me demo any more. At that point I felt DSEQ3 was way better. Given it’s never on sale means I can take my time. Thank for the reply and more importantly the great content.

Could you review the sonnox plugins like inflator and claro?
@palebluedotstudios2 жыл бұрын
I'd love to. Claro has actually flown under my radar! I'll take a look. Inflator would be interesting, haven't used it in years...
@TannerDavies2 жыл бұрын
@@palebluedotstudios The main thing I'm curious about with inflator is what it actually does to the signal because it doesn't really say haha
@palebluedotstudios2 жыл бұрын
@@TannerDavies Haha yes, it's always been a bit of a "magic mystery" plugin. Until Paul Third tested it out and pretty much figured out you can do the exact same thing with upwards compression and saturation. I believe he used MSaturator to do that.
@TannerDavies2 жыл бұрын
@@palebluedotstudios That would have been my follow-up question! I was wondering if you could achieve the same thing with other plugins, maybe stock plugins. Good to know someone figured it out!
@palebluedotstudios2 жыл бұрын
@@TannerDavies Many people still swear by it, but I feel like it's an outdated plugin. I might review it if I can still demo it. Here's the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGrSgHaKe82cpZY
