Resolving issues & servicing my KTM RC390 | Castrol Power 1 Ultimate oil change

After getting back to riding in the city, I finally got around to resolve some minor issues that I've observed in the last month and switched to the Castrol Power1 Ultimate 15w50 oil. After owning the RC390 for 5+ years and riding it for 68,000+ km, I ensure that minor issues are taken care of before they snowball into bigger ones.

Used both the Castrol and the Motul 5100 on my V15. The Motul one works like a charm. Gave my bike a different character and the exhaust became a lot bassy and a hell less vibey. Ive tried the Motul 7100 too and it performed quite harshly. But now I guess my bike has got the best match now in terms of engine oil

Dear OggyF I bought the castrol power one ultimate 15w 50 and went to svc for service they took my bike in and told me they won't this type of oil , I said why not they refused to answer ,I had to return the oil , then i went to a different service center this time i bought the 10 w 50 oil liqui moly , this service center guys told me it's bad for the engine and it will burn the oil .. I just asked them to put the oil no matter what

Earlier i was using liquimoly street race in my FZ version 2, After seeing lot of positive reviews started using the castrol power 1 ultimate. But as per my experince its not soo great the gear shifts felt clunky and also the smoothness also reduced a lot. Again shifted to the liquimoly streey race the bike ia performing good now. I dont know why this castrol power 1 ultimate is sooo hyped in every video🤦🏻‍♂️. No Regrets Oggy bro just shared my experience with the castrol.

Hi buddy, it could be you must have received a duplicate product, cause I had received one. Castrol's official Instagram page redirects you to flipkart to purchase the genuine oil. I'm quite happy with my fzs v3 performance after switch to castrol

Hey oggy even I am trying to find out about the leaking how did you figure out it was that and not the chain lube. What is the name of that part ? How much did it cost to replace that out?

I had stuck some tissue paper to the bottom of the motorcycle to figure out exactly where the oil was leaking from. It made it easier to narrow down the cause. The seal was less than Rs. 20 I think. Will have to check the invoice.

Now I have this issue , initially I thought it was lube but after riding aggressively I can clearly sees oil leaking frm that bolt🙄 and it smash on exhaust pipe and making wonderful smoking effects 🙏

2 times i went to andheri ktm svc every time i had the worst of experience. you got it probably because you are a big youtuber they screwed up my bike both times. first time telling my i need to change my fuel pump when it was in fine working condition later i found out they had bent a pin on the ecu connector which is the controller for the fuel pump. second time i went they tightened the side panel screw so badly I had to replace it later on. and when i asked them to tighten my rear suspension they told me it will take two days for that and I have to keep the bike there

Hey Oggy, watching your videos I got confidence to buy RC390 BS3 after my RS200 n pulsar 180..I am a maintenance freak as well .... Looking at the milage of your bike, please tell me..how often (kms interval) you usually get your Rage serviced ?... After owning RS200 ... 8,000 kms interval seems to be unreal, I had to get it serviced at 4,500 kms last time before which performance had really degraded for RS200....! One more thing, I bought RC390 which was with ODO at only 3,900kms so assuming that it was only serviced twice(though the first owner said he got his oil changed every year) I felt the oil level was quite less from the watch-glass ...got it serviced next day at 5,600 kms on ODO...it only had 1.2 L of oil ... It was soo strange ... Is it possible that the last owner got the bike with filled with only 1.2L of oil or by mistake mechanic confused it with RC200 which require 1.2L only !.... Also the first owner said that he got it serviced just before I bought !

Important question. How did you get 1.65 ltr of engine oil. As have checked and there is no packing of Castrol Ultimate with 1.5 ltr or even 500 ml in case we buy in splits

Hey OggyF, can u tell me how long does it take to check for valve clearances? and do they take apart the engine from the chassis to check for it? I own a Duke 390, but the process would fairly be the same for mine as well I believe.

Hey Dikshit, it takes around 2 hours at the SVC to get it done. They do take the engine out of the bike. There's a few KZbin videos showing how it's done on a Duke 390..a youtube search would get you some interesting results... Even one of a guy who completely took his Duke apart and put it back together.

Oggy sir, I need your help. I have a Duke 390 2016 model, done 12000kms, about 1000kms ago my coolant was mixing with engine oil, so I replaced the water pump seal and the problem was somewhat solved because I couldn't see any more coolant in the engine oil. After that change i rode the bike for about 900kms and during these 900kms i had to top up my coolant twice. Can u tell me what might be the problem. My bike runs absolutely fine, no starting problems, no smoke from exhaust, runs smooth, also there's no coolant leakages on the exterior, Plz help me with this

Castrol and power and ultimate is okay but the box you showed in the video was of 15W-50 . i just wanted to ask why are you using 15W-50 instead of 10W-50 for ktm 390 ?

@@ronniedleo3907 thank you for the concern. On short city rides I usually don't wear my riding jacket. My backpack usually has a back protector in the insert and I always wear a helmet and gloves. If I know I'll be riding longer and faster (was stuck in traffic mostly), I'll always be geared up.
