I got a chance to listen to this, Chris was very gracious to allow me to. Absolutely phenomenal and is going to be a big inspiration to me moving forward. One of the songs on his demo list was “Magnetic Lies” by Malia, the body and realism to the first vocal line made my jaw drop, I will forever be chasing that feeling now

@Chris_Pearce NICE! Great album and song for a demo. 👍 "Celestial Echo" from that same Malia & Boris Blank album "Convergence" is excellent as well because the bass notes in the intro image distinctly across the width of the stage, which I'm sure Pate's Civic nails perfectly as well. :)

What is directional speaker cable?

Go to the Audioquest web sight and read about it. It has to do with the direction the copper was pulled through the die when forming the strands.

@@kiklop8362 As an electrician, I use to believe that copper was copper and that the concept of directional wire was ridiculous as you do now. But then I purchased and installed Audioquest Diamondback RCA cables on my system. Not knowing they were directional, I mistakenly installed one backwards. After using the Balance knob to listen to one cable in the right direction compared with the other in the reverse, I had to admit that they in fact sounded different. The one in the correct orientation sounded smooth and clear and the “wrong” cable sounded grainy. Begrudgingly, it took me a few hours to reverse the “reversed” cable as it was installed behind panels and routed from front to rear. I wouldn’t have taken the time to do all that work if the difference was trivial or barely perceptible.

Lest we (and particularly you, Gerald, as an electrician) forget that all traditional transducers (speakers) are driven by A/C (ALTERNATING Current), meaning that the electrons in the wire Must Travel Equally and uninhibited in BOTH DIRECTIONS within BOTH conductors (lengths of wire) TO & FROM the speaker in order for it to operate in a linear manner and produce accurate sound. If the speaker does not move 100% equally throughout its +/- excursion, it can not produce a full and complete waveform cycle to accurately reproduce any given sound, and the resulting sound would have some type of distortions (any type of deviation from the input signal that we are trying to reproduce)... Think of an oscilloscope where just the bottom (-) peaks of the waveform show clipping distortion while the top (+) peaks do not when you measure the A/C waveform. A "directional cable" in this scenario somehow infers that the signal and electrons traveling away from the source will be DIFFERENT in properties (other than just the exact inverse) when compared to the signal traveling back to the source, completing the circuit. For A/C, this would be NO BUENO. Given that the wire uses 99.99% pure copper, chemically, the actual molecular bonds within the copper cannot be changed or "arranged differently" otherwise it would no longer be COPPER. A "Directional" speaker cable would mean that you are only "transmitting" either the Positive Cycles of the A/C waveform, or only the Negative Cycles of the A/C waveform. The speaker would not move +/- and therefore would not produce any sound. 😊

If any of this was true and it has some benefit especialy on impedance level it would be used a lot in HV and greater. As always everyone who buy this cable can hear the difference but nobody even manufacturer can meassure some difference. Snake oil

What's the point of doing all this work and you mostly look at it instead of listen to it? I build SS on my cars to listen while I'm driving... and this is a car that it looks like it doesnt even drive. 90% of the time you talk about the build and show it, then 10% you listen to it. I really would love to understand this hobby... I am totally up to build a nice SS on something you actually spend time in it... you really drive the car and enjoy your tunes. This is the most pointless project I see..

Mostly for the purpose of competition, and showing off the capabilities of you and your shop. If a shop like his does a lot of hotrod builds, and a lot of audio builds, this the perfect in between that shows both demographics what they can do to help make sales to both different types of clients.

This specific car is a showcase, something really special. Years of work went into it to be one of the best possible listening experience. Really shows off the talent of the installers. There are plenty of other cars that have awesome top level systems in daily drivers, this is just something extra special

@@Chris_Pearce I understand you want to build something special but who else will want to do something like this? I think its a huge loss of money considering the time that was put into this build, the ROI will never make sense. If he wanted to expose his shop, if he put a fraction of this time/money in marketing, with nice builds, that you can actually drive and enjoy, the ROI would be way higher. Trailer a car that you take it to the racetrack, makes a lots of sense but trailer a car to an SQ show, and not o mention how ugly the car is. Sorry I'm being honest with my opinion.. I know it might hurt to some but its just my opinion as an car enthusiast before being a car audio enthusiast

@@d.a.4101 You have to be an audio guy to understand. It’s like being a car guy who goes to car shows to view car builds that never get driven. On the other hand, there are more SQ builds that are daily drivers than cars like this strictly for listening pleasure. And a car built for SQ only is more about pushing yourself to the fullest capabilities. Just like anything else people do they love. Like building a show car that you’ll never put on the streets to drive. It’s all about personal preference.
