JoJo's getting smarter every day. I believe you'll learn that a military man with stars on their shoulders is as much a politician as any other poli-creitter. Thanks for your views on institutional racism. I'm an old white dude, I can remember the old days when blacks really were discriminated against. It's a shame Dr. King's message seems to be ignored today, by all.

The whole congressional process is just ridiculous. If a member of Congress asks a question, you should be obligated to answer it unless it incriminates you or the answer would divulge classified information. There should never be an instance where a person can just remain silent or even deflect the question and say something unrelated. Giving Congress a time limit without considering whether the question was answered or not is just ridiculous, and evidence that our government doesn't give a shit about us, just in looking like it cares.

Hubb did his 20 over 30 some years ago. Daughter did her 6 years. This is what we told her. Pick a field you can use in real life. She became an X Ray Tech. Grab any educational classes you can. Save every dime that is possible, then get the H out. She did exactly what we said. She now has a high up in the field job. She is happy, living life & alive. We stayed military connected even now. 20 years after she served. The changes are very shocking, it is every man for himself. NO one talks to each other, or trust anyone anymore. You could cut the race tensions with a plastic spoon. NO on helps each other anymore. & the benefits lost in the last 30 some years, is just an O M G. Now I tell young people DO NOT DO IT.

I totally agree. I spent 20 years in the navy and it is not the same navy I joined. Before we had teams that worked together. When I left in 2021 I felt I was looking over my shoulder to see who was going to say I did something that hurt their feelings. I had been pulled in twice by a higher up telling me I had to be more empathic to someone under me because I made them cry for writing them up for constantly being late or taking out the trash. And someone literally called me racist because I told them they filled something out wrong and they needed to do it again. I know exactly the year it changed and from that time onward I literally said I'm out as soon as I can get a retirement.

All it accomplishes is the separation of the races. Through out the history of the US all the different countries people have been discriminated against. Irish, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Jewish, Mexicans, the list goes on and on. Yet none are talking about that! We are a country of diversity which is what separates us from the rest of the world. And it’s what makes us a great country.

The day I got the basic training it told us to look around and they told us doesn't matter what you see around you all these people are green. You're in the army. You're all green. You're in the military. You don't have time for this petty b******* you're all in the same God damn team. You all have to work together and you all have to trust each other. You've become brothers. And now by adding diversity, equity and inclusion, they're ruining this balance and race issues are coming up. Imagine that

He's not answering because either answer will get him in trouble. He's trying not to lose a "CONgress game", where one party tries to hold on power and corporate donations, and other party plays into voter's wishes to gain votes, power, and corporate donations. It's a constant process that flips back and forth. It's a show, a stage with clowns going through motions. Notice how bills to give billions to military corporations to send their stuff to a certain eastern european country keep passing with barely any resistance. Both race hustling and it's opposition are little more than examples of distraction and corruption.

Another thing to consider about "free speech" at schools and jobs is the fact that the hurtful things you say CANNOT BE AVOIDED by their targets. If you have a talk show on the radio, and you spew filth, anyone who doesn't want to hear that can tune to another station. If you do it on the TV, anyone who doesn't want to hear that can change the channel. If you do it on the internet, anyone who doesn't want to hear that can click way. If you're doing it in a book, anyone who doesn't want to read that can read something else, or just not read anything at all. If you're standing on a soap box, and screaming hatred on the street, anyone who doesn't want to hear that can walk down a different street, cover their ears, or CHOOSE to engage in debate. But if you are at school, or a job, the people there HAVE NO CHOICE. They have to hear what you have to say. There is no avoiding it, or retreating from it. They can't leave the classroom, because you hurt them with emotional abuse. They will get in trouble for that, especially if it's the teacher doing the talking. So, I think it's fair to say, "No, you're not allowed to spew hatred in school." And "No, you're not allowed to spew hatred at this workplace." That said, "spewing hatred," CANNOT be defined as "Saying something I disagree with," or "microaggressions." Slurs? Yes. Definitely hatred. Saying, "Yumm! Friend chicken and watermelon for lunch! Hey, Jamal, want to share my lunch with me?" That's just being generous with a delicious lunch, because who does NOT like friend chicken and watermelon? Especially in the summertime? Well, vegetarians and vegans, I suppose. But then, all they have to do is say, "No, thanks. I don't eat chicken." It's not an attack! Just because some idiots made it a stereotype so many years ago does not mean that white people can never offer black people delicious food, and have the black people call it a "microaggression." I've seen people get upset about "microaggressions," because "He flared his left nostril." Well, maybe he was just BREATHING, and his right nostril was stuffy, so his left one had to flare to make up the difference. You literally DO NOT KNOW, so you CANNOT JUDGE. But they do.

Questions aren't answered, because hearings are contests in a sport, where the objective is to create soundbites in favor of your own cause, and prevent soundbites in favor of opposing causes. The politician asking the questions is either trying to create a positive soundbite of himself (often not even allowing the witness to answer), or to force a negative soundbite of the witness. That's literally all it's about.

It's been pretty much common knowledge, at least those associated with the DoD, that the new 'leadership' has openly embraced CRT and DEI as a 'priority' within the military. It was that same change in policy that helped in tanking the retention and recruitment goals since it's been embraced. One of the primary recruiting pools was those 'military families', who are almost a separate group of people entirely. Many families have a long history of having someone in the military in each generation, if not more. Well, the next group was those conservative males, who saw military as a means to get funds for college and/or learn a skill with experience. Since the push for CRT and DEI, those numbers dropped. When the DoD booted out over 8500 members for not getting the jab, and not even considering the exemptions requested, now they want all those folks to step up and return to service. They offer to 'return to where you left off', like nothing ever happened. Now, those military families are actively discouraging their kids to consider military service, and many are passing up reenlisting, changing to reserves or civil service, if not eligible for disability pay. Just walk away and leave the 'New US Military' to press on with their DEI recruiting goals, CRT training, accepting people who would have never been considered before, and even those with 'medical conditions' which prevent them from deploying as well as eligible for life time disability pay before they even enlist.

Freedom of speech is freedom of speech. That being said, in a school setting, it should be illegal for any teacher to push a political agenda, it should be illegal for any teacher to lie. It's illegal for a citizen to lie to congress, yet congress lies to us constantly. That should be illegal also. Diversity and inclusion are not inherently positive traits. They can be, but it is an universal value. And in general it is of very limited use. If you have two armies, with same training, equipment and funding, but one being diverse, all sexes, all genders, all skin colors, all religions, all professions and all points of view. This army will be utterly crushed by another, that is primarily composed of men, of same skin color, same religion and same world views(speaking German would also be a great boon). Even on local levels, military squads composed of men and women, tend to perform much poorer, compared to units composed solely of men. And yes, this cult is not just divisive, but also extremely destructive. It creates tensions, that create fights and poor cooperation, that in turn leads to wasted resources, injuries and lesser outcomes. It is a snowball, that just after awhile results in a lot of negative baggage. Hell, reason why US is falling apart is exactly this crap. Tensions were fairly tame, when there was enough of money going around, but now, in past few years, things have been getting worse and worse, with this crap being it main reason. And it will keep getting worse, as US will no longer be able to just create money out of thin air to pacify everyone. Also it has nothing to do with free speech. Those are not some random conversations, this is educational institution. It purpose is to provide facts, not push opinions. Outside of this setting teacher can have any opinion it wants.

When people say "Free Speech" it is important to know what definition/context they are using. For example, the First Amendment is about Free Speech, but is guidance for the Federal Government. It doesn't apply to a parent/child relationship. However the principle has trickled down to the State Constitutions and the culture as a whole. A Thought on exceptions: inciting a riot is not protected by the First Amendment. This particular ideology (Critical Theory and its spawn) is designed to incites continuous fights among citizens.

JOJO, HE WON'T answer, BECAUSE the Rep only has five minutes allotted, so if the witness filibusters long enough, he can DUCK the answer. Simple. [N.B. A "subordinate" is someone who works for you; "insubordinate" means someone refusing a lawful order.]

The critical isn't the problem with CRT. The problem is Race Theory... Theory means that it's not proven.

Critical thinking is studying the facts and coming up with your own conclusion. Not being told what your conclusion should be. Unbelievably ignorant!

Opinion between students is fine. Educators, however, have the obligation to present both sides of a debatable issue and even argue the pros and cons of both sides. That is how a young mind learns critical thinking. Anything else is indoctrination. An educators opinion has no place in the classroom unless it is asked for AFTER BOTH sides have been presented.

Basic common sense. When you prioritise a minority group of people over the majority, you create resentment.

What does this topic have to do with defense? Critical race theory isn’t about teaching critical thinking. It’s about critiquing societal foundations from one perspective only and indoctrinating students in that perspective. He deceptively and disingenuously used the word “critical” to mean something while presenting it as something else.

I would think that diversity in the military would help to prevent some groups from getting an advantage over another: a company consisting of only a single race would allow those people to be advantaged or abused based on their race. That should result in better morale across the military and allow people to be assigned more interchangeably: for example, a talented surgeon can be assigned to help in any post, not just where his race matches the race of others at that post. Promotions and opportunities would be more fairly distributed, which leaves military members feeling that there is justice in how they are treated and encourages them to participate for a longer time in their career.

There already was diversity, it's when you start calling white people bad and that blacks and do anything for themselves and need help to achieve anything.

Bad things happen when the military goofs off. It happened after Vietnam. The US launched the Iranian Hostage Rescue Mission that came close to being a disaster.

It's because the government owns the institution of education and the research that is taught in it, in order for the government to gain power over its citizens and in the world stage, communism is the best system which is the only system that can implement socialism. Socialism is taught as utopian in many institutions. The only way for our country to bring this in completely is to use the education system to teach kids and adults how bad our current system is and to teach how utopian socialism is. Some institutions still teach capitalism as the right system, but don't always actually teach true capitalism, you find this in very few institutions. This split teaching is to divide the people on money at a personal level so you feel attacked financially by the other side. They divide people in as many ways as possible so that everyone is in an artificial minority. You have to remove bonds in families and religion through fear. You have to divide people in fear of each other so that one side removes rights from the other out of fear, and turns to government for protection and help instead of the groups that they divide you against. If you don't fear these other groups, you may have useful conversations and learn to think outside your indoctrination. Both parties are doing this... It is necessary for people to rationally talk out opinions without emotional and irrational responses. This is diversity of thought and why free speech is necessary, no matter how "offensive" it is. In communism, the elite group holds ownership of the citizens as slaves and that can't happen without stripping away the rights of people. You won't easily give up rights of your own but if you fear others having them, you'll vote them away anyway.
